You can request more food waste bags by placing a note on your green food waste caddy on the collection day. Auditory bird scarers make the sound of gunfire, or sirens, or can mimic the distress call of a bird.

For household waste, please ensure your rubbish is contained within rubbish bags before placing in your bins. Sign up for collection reminders (opens in a new tab), so you know when to put out your non-recyclable waste. Our contractor's collection crews collect your rubbish by hand so please don't put anything into the bags that could cause them injury. Wrap broken glass securely, label it clearly as broken glass, and leave it next to your bags/bin. If the collection crew believes that your rubbish could cause them injury, they will not collect it. Protecting your rubbish from animals and birdsThe best action you can take is to remove old nests once the birds have abandoned them. Then you can carry out bird-proofing to prevent nesting in the future. Preventing birds from nesting on property Some properties may not be suitable for this service due to restricted access for our collection vehicles. We reserve the right to decide whether or not we can provide the garden waste collection service. Can I use my own bin? Please note that the general licence no longer applies to gulls. An authorised person must apply for a special licence to control gulls. No hazardous waste e.g. asbestos or plasterboard - please use a private contractor or the recycling centre Food waste bags can be requested at the kerbside by placing a note on your kerbside food waste caddy on collection day. The crews will leave a supply of food waste bags in the caddy once emptied.
