Two Adolfs lived in Kobe, as part of the German expat community: one the son of a Jewish baker, and one the son of a Nazi diplomat. My only complaint is that there is not an extensive usage of symbolism and literary techniques to add depth, nor is it highly experimental. Simple decisions escape them as they bumble around foolishly, making bad choices, one after the other.
