Description

Turning it lets you cycle through the panel's four main functions—Print, Prepare, Control, and Info—and pressing it takes you to a submenu, from which you can enter a command. From the Prepare menu, you can preheat filament (there are menu items for heating PLA and ABS) and disable the stepper motors, which allows you to manually move the extruder and build platform.

With the Ender 3 V2 Neo, there should be no reason to use a Raft or Brim with the standard filaments. Fortunately, with the correct temperature setting and the excellent adhesion of the print bed, such auxiliary constructions are not necessary. Because the hot end is limited to 260 °C (and really should be run lower, at a max of 240 °C or so), you will be unable to print exotic materials such as nylon with the Neo printers, unless you upgrade the hot end and printer firmware. Software Features Silent Stepper Drivers - Older 3D printers such as the Creality CR-10 produce a song-like sound when printing due to the frequencies of the motors moving. Newer electronics prevent this issue, making the printer substantially quieter. The only sound you will hear are the fans, which is much easier to ignore. Not only does this eliminate the hassle of manual leveling, but it also produces a cleaner, more accurate first layer, which is vital for the overall quality and bed adhesion of the 3D print. This is also a great feature if you are new to 3D printing, since leveling the bed takes a bit of practice, but even as experienced users we appreciate this feature. Redesigned Hot End A built-in tool box allows you to keep important tools close at hand! A button-type tensioner ensures tightness and prevents layer shifting.The Ender 3 Neo is an update to the Ender 3 Pro 3D printer. It retains much of the form, function, and philosophy of the Ender 3 Pro, while making some notable updates without steeply pushing the price upward. Users get everything they loved about the Ender 3 Pro, along with some great new features, without having to pay much more. PETG filament is easy to print and is durable and stable. It is a good choice for printing items that are used regularly, such as tools or household items. It is also ideal for outdoor applications. The Ender 3 V2 Neo borrows its powder-coated (PC) flexible magnetic spring steel build plate from its more premium cousin, the Creality Ender 3 S1. The PC spring steel plate offers excellent adhesion, requires little to no cleaning (even after dozens of prints), and is remarkably user-friendly. Owing to its rigidity, the steel plate makes it a hassle-free experience to remove it from the printer and get the prints off of it. All you need to do is flex the plate and off comes the print. Since the retraction consists of two settings (the retraction distance and the speed), you should only change one of these settings at a time and observe the effects of it before you change the other. Creality says that the Ender 3 Neo and Ender 3 V2 Neo both feature a v4.2.7 32-bit silent mainboard. However, the v4.2.7 appears functionally identical to the v4.2.2 on older models, albeit with some minor tweaks in stepper motor wiring to suppress noise production. So, don’t expect any performance enhancements over the v4.2.2 mainboard on the older machines.

One of the biggest problems is that ABS shrinks when it cools, which can cause objects to warp. To prevent this, it is important to keep the ambient temperature even and high. Put the firmware file "Ender-3 V2 Neo-Marlin2.0.8.3-HW-V4.2.2-SW-V1.1.8C-CR-Touch-20230324.bin" into the root directory of TF card. Although the two Neo printers share the same build volume, they do not have the same physical dimensions. The Ender 3 Neo has a total size of 440×440×465mm, while the Ender 3 V2 Neo’s dimensions are 438×424×472mm. Mainboard Perhaps the biggest game changer for the Ender 3 V2 Neo is the CR-Touch auto-leveling system. It uses a touch probe to automatically scan 16 separate points on the bed before each print to discover and adjust for any unevenness on the platform. This ensures ensures level accuracy and a consistently high-quality first layer. The automatic bed leveling dramatically improves the 3D printing experience, as it eliminates the hassle of manual levelling altogether. Usability and Ease of Assembly For the first print, I attempted one of the test prints included on the memory card. I used a third-party PLA filament; the print came out brittle and poorly cohesive. I tried again, this time using Ender filament, but try as I could, I couldn't get it to extrude. I expected that the extruder might be clogged, so I preheated the extruder to PLA melting temperature and took the long, very thin needle that Creality includes with the printer and poked it into the nozzle a few times. This cleared out the problem, and from then on the V2 extruded normally. In retrospect, I suspect the problem wasn't with the filament, but that the nozzle was set a little too close to the print bed, touching it in places so that filament wouldn't come out and causing the clog.To work the display, you have to rotate the knob, which takes you through the different options. To select an option, you push on the knob, which makes a rather loud popping sound. Thanks to the good adhesion of the PC-coated print bed, the adjustment of the print bed temperature is not quite as critical for the Ender 3 V2 Neo. The above values should provide sufficient adhesion for the respective filaments. Though if we did this again, we would tweak the print settings to cover for the layer gaps and holes, you can clearly see from this layer height test that you get notably better results at 0.1mm, with less prominent layer lines – which the Ender 3 V2 Neo handles without too much issue. Another small improvement is the design of the coupler which holds the PTFE tube - the Ender 3 V2 Neo uses a new design that no longer relies on small metal teeth to hold the tube, making it less prone to failing over time. We also found that it holds the tube very firmly as long as the blue clip is present, which will help prevent jamming due to a gap forming between the PTFE and the top of the nozzle.
