They teetered the line between totally believable and absolutely baffling to the perfect degree – something not all books in this genre can master. I did find the final reveal ~a little~ underwhelming, not because of the scale of it, but because it just sort of happened to the protagonist. If you really want him, I’ll just give him to you.”Dark academia setting and a number of mysteries all linked to a secret society meant I was hoping that this would be a shoe-in hit. While it was definitely a read that caught my attention (and I would certainly award it 3.5 stars if that were an option), there were elements that prevented me rating it higher. Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot and ground coffee beans in the third pot.
