Alan Hawthorne was flawlessly written. He is the perfect villain—manipulative, seductive, and diabolical enough that I fell into the trap over and over thinking he might have a limit to his behavior. I can’t wait for readers to see the way Hawthorne works—it is terrifying and brilliant! I loved the ending. Right when I thought I had figured this one out, a big twist comes along that wasn't expected at all and it left me speechless. It was a big surprise. This one kept me on the edge of my seat. It is not a predictable read and I thought it was mind blowing and AMAZING! This one is tied in first place in my favorite shelf for this year. Crazy good!Sarah Haywood is working hard to get a permanent position at Queen Anne University for two years. She gets top marks from her students, has a steady publication record, has helped launch a new program, and has even found leads for grant funding for their department. And most of all, the number one rule that must never, ever, be broken: don t do any of the above when he had been drinking. He was bad when He was sober, but he was worse-much worse-when he was drunk. This is a… well I don’t have an adequate word to call it. It’s bad, so bad, the more I read the more pissed I was at it; at first I thought it’ll be a 3 star book with the eh feeling following it, however it just went downhill and here we are with me wishing I could just give it a minus 1. This book was supposed to be a psychological thriller. A lady who is being sexually harassed at work gets the chance to have anyone she wants "disappear". I liked the idea. The problem was the heroine, Sarah. She had to be the biggest loser ever. I hated her enough that I would have liked to "disappear" her by the end of the thing.

How is that for a teaser for this book?! I had to read it. Not only that but I loved T.M. Logan's last book- Lies. I was so intrigued by this blurb that I couldn't wait to see what this was about. Damn this was so good! I loved the author's debut last year Lies, but this book was definitely better. Sarah, recently separated from her husband, is juggling raising two kids and her workload as a university professor. A job that she loves, but that one of the men in her department makes exceedingly hard. When she rescues a little girl from a kidnapping attempt, a grateful father offers to do a favour for Sarah. The offer to remove a person from her life- PERMANENTLY. The only stipulation- she has 72 hours and once she makes the call, the action cannot be undone.

In the long run, this book may not be especially memorable, but it kept me entertained in the here and now and at the moment that’s good enough for me.When Sarah rescues a young girl in danger, a powerful man vows to repay the debt...all he needs is one name and that person will disappear no questions asked. Moving on, although you can’t actually move on because we are beaten over the head with the fact that Alan is a slimy son of a bitch and he gets away with anything, he’s so freaking smart. So, she saves a kid and the kid’s father gives her an “I’ll make anyone disappear just tell me a name” deal, cuz why the hell not? After the huge dilemma (we obviously know what she’ll do, it’s not really a big mystery) and those 29 seconds where she gives Alan’s name we get to be in Sarah’s head (yay!) and her constant whining how she now doesn’t want to make Alan go poof. For a second there she wanted to tell him she gave his name to a guy that’ll make him disappear. How stupid are you, Sarah? I think if she had done that I would’ve DNF-ed the book so fast because… stupid! I just don’t know how to… I just don’t’ know. and turns....right up until the last sentence and I really enjoyed the ‘will she, wont she?’, ‘has she, hasn’t she’ throughout the whole book

The ending…it’s quite frankly jaw-dropping!!! The entire book is twisted, fast-paced, and completely diabolical!!! A must-read thriller with a fascinating premise and an even better delivery!!
