In 2015, Pete Naughton of The Daily Telegraph wrote, "Apart from David Bowie, it's hard to think of any British solo artist who's had as varied, long-lasting and determinedly forward-looking a career. Both are superb in their own ways, the ambivalence of the lyric and the strong melody (inspired, one US critic insists, by easy-listening band Classics IV’s 1968 hit Stormy) meaning it works perfectly as either wistful lament or celebratory anthem. Paul’s new single ‘I’m Where I Should Be’, is released as a 2-track download / stream on Friday 25th September including a brand new song ‘Open Road’ as part of the package.

Other songs he has nominated as favourites include the Beatles' " Tomorrow Never Knows" and " Strawberry Fields Forever", the Small Faces' " Tin Soldier", James Brown's " Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine", Declan O'Rourke's " Galileo (Someone Like You)", the Kinks' " Waterloo Sunset" and " Days", and Pharrell Williams' " Happy". Renewed interest in his work in the Britpop era resulted in 1995's Stanley Road providing his first two solo top ten singles. After many incredible performances on the show before, we know it'll be one not to be missed with the first performance of Glad Times, a new track from FAT POP!In late 2006, the album Hit Parade was released, which collected all the singles released by the Jam, the Style Council and Weller during his solo career. Co-produced by Noonday Underground's Simon Dine, it was preceded by yet another top 10 hit single "It's Written in the Stars". We're proud to announce that Weller will be soundtracking the forthcoming boxing drama 'Jawbone', starring Ray Winstone, Michael Smiley and Ian McShane.

Weller became interested in 1960s mod culture in late 1974, particularly after hearing " My Generation" by the Who.
