The beginning of the book was pure RELISH. I loved the anticipation of their first meeting, how their preconceived ideas of each other had nothing on how they actually found each to be. I also really enjoyed every time Will and Beatrice were together, their witty dialogues and undeniable attraction to each other. When I next morning still the remains of the Duke on the arm next to me erschnuppere, I become beinah weak and seriously consider to move the departure until the perfumery opens and I can still acquire him. Or at least test it again. At home in the province, these bottles are rather not to be found ... so, should mean ... not at all. This takes on toxic masculinity and the nuances of how women are and were treated as less than- and it's quite explicit that this is the project of the book. So if you don't like activism in your romance, this might not be for you, but I found it to be delightful. Masculine and elegant – with a hint of rum. Powerful, rich and ever so welcoming — “do come in, I’m sure we’ve met before.” For the well-to-do who are able, stable, reassuring — but also lots of fun. A solid shoulder to cry on (was that a protective hand I felt on my _____?) This is a fragrance for the man whose reputation lives on. Not quite Latin — but full of love nevertheless.

I had my ups and downs with this book. One thing that stands very strongly on the positive side for me was the hero, William. For a good part of the book anyway. I loved that he was dazzled by the heroine right from the beginning. I loved that he genuinely wanted women's rights before the heroine ever thought to shake a pamphlet at him. And I really loved how much he loved his brother. Dog head? Uh... Is that supposed to mean something to me? I don't think it smells like dog right now. I adore how much Will supports, admires, and encourages Beatrice and feel like this makes him even more swoon-worthy! He is such a good man, and his genuine interest in Beatrice’s thoughts and ideas is refreshing to her. He really listens to her and respects her, which she is not used to when talking to men. Like Beatrice, he is forward-thinking and willing to fight for causes and people he believes in. And throughout the story, he shows Beatrice just how much he believes in her.

Much Ado About Dukes draws loose inspiration from Shakespear’s Much Ado About Nothing, loose enough to keep the intrigue going but inspired enough to recognize some character dynamics and plot points.

It absolutely underlines the male character such as strength, sovereignty, down-to-earth, alpha, independence but also the at the same time the pleasant such as familiarity, warmth, closeness. I love this fragrance as it works amazingly as a cool rose scent that could be worn by ladies and gents equally and its a fragrance i have had lovely complements for wearing too However, I didn’t think I’d be losing my mind at hand-holding, but here we are. I also hope we get to see her pregnant/with kids in the next book(s) because I want to see them both absolutely lose their minds over a cute little spitfire baby.The statement comes from my dear mum and if something suits her hypersensitive nose, it is more than just a knighthood for a perfume. Vetiver is there rather a different caliber, which I often meet with skepticism. What attracts me to it but again and again, is this green, citrus freshness, which it often brings and the woody something. In the case of Portrait des Dukes, subtly woody, lemongrass-like notes rise from the base very soon, which I would most likely attribute to vetiver. And so beautiful my nose has never experienced them before.
