I might be sentimental about this place as it’s the first place my girlfriend took me out for breakfast, but this is one of the cutest breakfast places and completely off the beaten track. From the Barbakan Krakówski, you’ll walk through the Brama Floriańska and onto the main artery of Kraków’s Old Town; St. There is nothing out of the ordinary, but it is a nice atmosphere, low-key place, with only a few seats.

The best way to find out what is going on in Krakow during your stay is to check in with the Krakow Festival Bureau or grab a copy of the Karnet magazine. The route incorporates some of the most important historical landmarks in Krakow, making for a great place to start your visit as you admire the historic buildings.

The park’s founder, Wojciech Bednarski was applauded for his accomplishments for opening such a gorgeous park and was acknowledged even in Russia for his efforts. The 70 metre tall Town Hall tower is one of the major focal points within Rynek Główny and the only remaining part of the original Town Hall. You shouldn’t jump the fence of a building site of course, and I am not encouraging that … but hypothetical, if you were to do you would find a great place to swim, allegedly with a shipwreck artificially placed on the bottom for scuba divers to explore. The building dates to the 14th century and taught many famous scientists, including Copernicus (the famous Polish astronomer who argued that Earth rotated around the sun and not vice versa). That said, the Christmas market here in December is popular and worth spending a day at if you visit in the winter.

Airbnb is available in Krakow, with private rooms starting at 110 PLN per night (though they usually average double that). The most magnificent is Sukiennice*, an enormous Cloth Hall that was the focus of trade from the Middle Ages onwards. Built in the 6th century, this Baroque church’s most striking feature is of the twelve apostles standing tall at the church’s front gate. I don't see where there is a Rick Steves Krakow guide book, so I bought a DK Eyewitness Travel book, which I don't find that interesting. Located above the Rynek Podgórski and up a large flight of stone stairs, Bednarski Park has a commanding presence over the Podgórze District.
