The closest competitor from Sony is actually more expensive, with considerably worse build quality and usability. It could enable the camera body to become weather sealed and noticably reduce the still reported dust issue. I like the Ricoh GR III in so many ways, the size, the build quality, the discreet look and feel, and perhaps most importantly, the quality of the files it outputs. You have a control wheel for shooting TV/Av and when shooting manual it's a single tap of the screen to switch between adjusting shutter speed and adjusting aperture. Even at base iso (100), there's a bit of grain in the shadows that can get obvious once you start pushing the files.To counteract this, I have been checking the camera more often to make sure this issue is minimized. Sometimes my settings aren’t set up correctly for the scene in front of me but I don’t have time to adjust them with precision.
