If you are looking for a digital piano with a lighter key action then the Yamaha NP-32 or Roland GO:PIANO 88 are both very viable options. These criticisms were pretty widespread too, so Korg has taken most of them into account when designing the B2, B2SP, and B2N. Many of the problems have been resolved and I can confidently say the B2 is a vast improvement over the last-gen B1. Metronome: The button for the metronome is on the front panel of the piano and helps with diverse modifications in the settings of the piano. It is possible to change the tempo from 40 to 240 beats per minute.

As for the Jazz, it has a bright-toned to it, and the Ballad piano it has a beautifully resonant sound. The Korg B2 offers anyone wishing to play the piano for the first time 12 well-voiced tones and a comfortable key action, making it evident that it is a big advance over its somewhat underwhelming predecessor. Although this piano may not be as feature-rich as other beginner-friendly digital pianos available on the market, it does provide users with a straightforward instrument at a very appealing price. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the B2, a highly regarded digital piano, is Korg’s join to the B1. The B2 is designed to rank among the latest quality pianos for beginners, much like its predecessor. There are two further models in addition to the B2: the B2SP, which features a stylish stand and a 3-unit pedal, and the B2N, which opts for a lightweight keyboard as well as a different speaker layout. The B2’s 88 fully weighted keys and Natural Weighted Hammer Action (NH) keyboard offer it a natural-feeling response. The weight of the piano keys varies depending on the note they are on since they are graded; the deeper notes feel heavier than the keys inside the higher octave. It also hugely depends on the software and how it allocates memory to avoid noticeable note cut offs. While testing the B2, I didn’t have issues with polyphony.I’ll be honest and tell you that I did notice a difference between the feel of this Korg and my old acoustic at home when I tried them out in the store. The Korg keys don’t quite have the same amount of authenticity. However, that’s what I expected. I don’t think a digital will ever perfectly replicate the feel of an acoustic. Sure, some makers will get close, and Korg have come pretty close with this B2 model. It’s clear they’ve spent a good portion of their development time on trying to replicate the experience of playing a real piano and I applaud them for that. 12 sounds – a mixture of good… and a a couple of not so good The Korg B2 does come with a three-pedal setup and a furniture-style stand. Thus it can adapt seamlessly inside the living room and add to the room’s elegance and décor. One notable feature of this piano is its large speaker grill, which is located right at the front panel of the board, above its key bed and controls.

Here is why I say it is good for beginners and intermediate players because this piano has a mode called Partner Mode, which splits the keyboard into two halves, and each having the same key range. And lastly, the Korg B2 has an app called Korg Module. It is an app for iOS, and it has a high-quality library of sounds that you can plug it into the USB to Host port. The Yamaha P-45 is part of Yamaha’s P-series (the P stands for Portable) and is Yamaha’s most affordable piano featuring weighted hammer action.

However, the limited functionality of the B1 remains and is a massive downside to the B2, especially since other digital pianos have nearly standardized these extras.

We reviewed the Korg B1 (and by extension, the B1SP model, which featured some extra accessories) a while ago, and we found it to be a decent beginner piano with terrific sounds, but a limited feature set that lagged behind the competition. This will benefit more for beginners. While using the app, you can choose which level to start from, whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced.
