The influence of international groups such as Blink-182 and Sum 41 remains but Busted keep their sound with a distinctly British edge. During this trip, they also continued writing and began recording for their planned fourth studio album. But yeah, I'd never thought I'd see the day when a Busted album is heavier than a Bring Me The Horizon album. Due to inventory and accounting purposes, we do not exchange items received for different items than originally purchased. There’s something refreshing about listening to a pop band that isn’t trying to conform with what is charting well and just doing what they want.

The band’s hugely successful debut album ‘Busted’ featured hit singles ‘What I Go To School For’, ‘Year 3000’, ‘You Said No’, ‘Sleeping With The Light On’ and ‘Crashed The Wedding’. Since then, I feel they have all had success and Charlie has more than proved himself as a capable musician, gaining top 20 albums across multiple genres (Fightstar, solo-works).The trio are back with their hyperactive blend of pop-punk for the first time since dropping their multi-platinum album ‘A Present For Everyone’ in 2003. There are some utterly delicious moments in the human experience that can’t quite be accounted for in words alone: bare feet sinking into gloriously soft shagpile carpet, the smell of bacon frying on a Sunday morning, and the sound of your favourite band or artist releasing the album they were born to make. Nineties’ is one of the tracks which will claim a place alongside other Busted favourites such as ‘Year 3000’ and ‘Crashed The Wedding’. James Bourne said in an interview, "Once you get halfway through the album, you're officially half way there".

AltCorner is the promotional platform for alternative music, documenting upcoming artists and established alternative acts.The band recorded a new version featuring Simpson and without McFly for the album, as the band believed that it fit the album's themes of nostalgia, reflection, and their hearkening back to their earlier pop-punk sound due to the lyrics dealing with James Bourne's life after Busted initially broke up in 2005. They wrote more material than ever, much of it at Bourne’s apartment in North London where they spent so much time together back when they first started the band. With a tour coming up next month, fans have a lot to get excited about and Half Way There has a good chance of restoring the band’s commercial success and propelling back to the top of the charts. With the talk that Charlie's been writing some Fightstar material recently, I'm hoping that next year, Busted will take a break to allow him to focus on that. From first single and lead album track ‘ Nineties’ and all of its retro references to the album’s closing number ‘ It Happens’, which serves as a pseudo autobiography for the band and their career to date, Half Way There is very much about looking back and remembering the good old days – which is great if you’re already a fan of the band, but doesn’t lend itself well to attracting new audiences in a time when so many pop artists are experimenting with their style and developing their sound.

Even by their standards, there’s nothing here to get invested in, and when the only comeback that they themselves have is references to the past, both their own and of countless other, better bands, that really just says it all. In May that year, Cobus Potgieter, who had previously stood in as drummer on Busted's 2016 tour, announced that he would be the studio drummer for the upcoming fourth album.I think busted must have long had a level of self awareness that their music operates in this way though.
