Ultra-wide and 2x zoom telephoto lenses offer more interesting perspectives, something not on the Pixel 3 Low light photos look better than ever thanks to a dedicated Night Mode. Without it, people’s skin looks like a 1990s glamor portrait when Photoshop first came on the scene – so much unfortunate airbrushing going on. Verizon flipped on its 5G service in Providence at the end of July, making Rhode Island’s capital one of 10 cities that now have 5G access on Big Red's network. (Verizon claims that more than 20 additional cities will be added to those ranks before the end of the year.) But don't take that to mean that 5G connectivity is available throughout those cities. After recently spending serious time with the Sony Xperia 1, with its stunning 21:9 Bravia-engineered panel, which was only let down slightly by that phone's underwhelming battery, the Note 10+ definitely had a tough act to follow and, while I would say the Sony phone is still the device I would prefer to watch 21:9 movie content on, for everything else the Note 10+ is either the Xperia 1's equal or superior.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has a large 4,300mAh battery cell that, from my testing with the phone, is good for a day and half of moderate real world usage. This isn't as strong as some other flagships, such as the Huawei P30 Pro, which is good for two days between charges, but for a phone with such a big screen and internal spec, I feel is actually good. I never had any battery anxiety when using this device and, well, that's a mark of endorsement from me. Samsung's use of punchy colors, a pixel-dense Quad HD+ resolution, and high peak brightness have always made its Super AMOLED screens look superb. It's just now maximized to seem extra immersive and worth all of that hand stretching. As you’d expect from a new Note, the 10 Plus is among the fastest phones out today. Sure, last year’s iPhone and a few other Androids are a smidge faster, but that’s mostly about bragging rights at this point.

That's half my testing stops where I ran into issues with 5G. Some hiccups are to be expected when rolling out a new network, and Verizon's coverage will undoubtedly improve over time. But the same inconsistencies with coverage that we've seen in previous stops were on display here, too. Note 10 Plus 5G outlook Speed-wise, there are certainly no surprises. The Note 10 Plus is as powerful as they come, with Samsung delivering a phone that’s instantaneously responsive, storming through our CPU benchmarking tests. It’s faster than both the P30 Pro and Galaxy S10 Plus in the Geekbench 4 single and multi-core processing benchmark, although it isn’t quite as rapid as the iPhone Xs Max– which is currently the fastest smartphone on the market. The Note 10 5G is an extremely powerful phone thanks to its processor and 12 GB RAM. The large 6.8-inch AMOLED display is perfect for jotting notes with the S-Pen. This Samsung stylus now offers 10 hours of battery life. Triple Rear Camera It's the returning functionality that is far more persuasive when you unsheathe the S Pen from the bottom right corner of the Note 10 Plus frame. It's shorter and thinner than before, but still accomplishes the same great fine-tipped note-taking. Memory size - User memory is less than the total memory due to storage of the operating system and software used to operate the phones features.

Both Note 10 and Note 10 Plus have either a Snapdragon 855 or a Exynos 9825 chipset, depending on your region, and we've tested both. Samsung didn't upgrade to the gaming-centric Snapdragon 855 Plus used in the Asus ROG Phone 2, but it did outfit the Note 10 Plus with a vapor cooling chamber designed to handle today’s 3D games and whatever comes next. Toward the end of my testing session, it began to rain, but I'm not sure that affected my results so much as it did my disposition. A Verizon representative told me that only rain that completely obscures visibility would disrupt 5G connectivity. Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G speed results T-Mobile's Ray hinted that the company's next "Un-Carrier" event would center on 5G, but it's dependent on getting that version of the Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G that can tap into the broader network. It won't loudly promote its service until that happens.Here's what I found while taking the Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G out for a test drive and how its performance compares to other phones.

inches makes it sound almost too big – bigger than a 6.5-inch iPhone, right? Well, not really. It's only a few millimeters taller. connectivity is a big part of the Note 10 Plus 5G's appeal, but it's not the phone's only feature. It has the same camera setup as the Note 10 Plus as well as the same Snapdragon 855 processor and 4,300 mAh battery. We plan to test those features, too, once we get more time with the phone. But get this mirrored finish in the right light and it has a memorizing rainbow effect, making the Note 10 Plus – literally – your new favorite shiny toy. It's a head-turner.The Note 10 Plus also benefits from an overly generous 12GB of RAM for multitasking, rather than the 8GB of RAM in the regular model. As for storage, you’re restricted to 256GB, but with the option to expand this by a further 1TB via microSD. The Note 10 Plus’ battery is also larger at 4,200mAh in capacity and supports charging speeds up to 45W – although, the included charger is only 25W. Having said that, the Galaxy Note 10 Plus’ stamina hasn’t taken a hit either, despite all of this power. In our video rundown test, with the screen set to the phone’s native resolution and at 170cd/m ² brightness, the Note 10 Plus lasted 19hrs 56mins on a single charge. Dial the resolution down to FHD+, and we managed to squeeze out almost an extra hour under the same conditions. The power button is now on the left side, as it's been combined with the much-maligned Bixby button.It's a good move. Oh, Bixby remains a completely mediocre voice assistant and the power button's move does take getting used to. But you'll be way more mindful of this new 'everything' button and quit mistakenly pressing it thinking it's volume down.
