I don’t think we’ve given it a fair hearing until we’ve played it several times, to completion, with all the Advanced and Optional Rules. Of course there are some “Good Things” out there as well such as Minerals and Space Wrecks, the salvaging of which bestows some new technological knowledge upon the salvager.

You can increase your movement speed by increasing your Movement technology level (see below) then upgrading your units. If a unit (ship) lands on an unexplored space it must explore that system and apply any effects immediately.Terrain is important as it impacts both combat and movement, as well as how you will build your empire.

Each player will be given a Homeworld (mine happens to be Chulak as I love the color green) along with their starting ships and infrastructure, including 4 Shipyards, 3 Colony Ships, 1 Miner and 3 Scouts. Colony Ships always represent a single ship, always stay face-up, and always move just 1 hex per turn. Gamers who have been playing war games for years will easily recognize the quality of the design and the care that went into crafting it.
