According to our friends at EPOS, (pronounced ep-aas), EPOS is derived from Latin and Ancient Greek to describe epic stories, speech, and poetry. EPOS the word essentially means epic; a tale of extraordinary doings of extraordinary people who, in dealing with gods or superhuman forces, gave shape to the universe (according to Wikipedia). No offense to the Turtle Beaches of the industry, but EPOS wins the branding game. The plate has notches which fit into the groove on the headset and has a small magnet in the centre which holds the plate in position. On the forward-facing side, there is one edge with grips that when pushed make it possible to remove the plate. It’s a clever implementation. One of the best headsets — this model boasts comfort, a great microphone, and stellar audio quality

Under the hood, EPOS has implemented 42mm drivers, which is a typical size along with 50mm. That being said, we fully expected the smaller drivers to be a weakness. We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted with rich, clear, concise sound across the board and having Sennheiser DNA in its pedigree is certainly paying off. The H6PRO has excellent passive isolation characteristics, thanks to the selection of materials in the headset and the overall headband, hinge and earcup design that ensures a tight acoustic seal around the ears. The clamping force is decent too, being very comfortable out of the box. Having an audio profile of such clarity means the H6Pro is a fantastic headset for gaming, too. Wearing a top-notch headset is a great way to improve your online multiplayer experience, as they can help you become more aware of your surroundings by highlighting distant footsteps, vehicles and gunshots. I found this to be the case in PUBG: Battlegrounds. Over in Gran Turismo 7 , the H6Pro helped me listen out for rival motorists trying to cut me off at the apex, and I was able to defend my position much more effectively as a result. The Closed headset faired better here, and I preferred it mostly because I didn’t need to have it on full volume to catch everything. Our in-house gamers put the H6PRO to the test and came out with a few helpful notes and tips that will ensure your set up is a breeze and you're getting the best experience possible out of your new H6PRO. For testing purposes, we used a PC. Setup:The microphone is super clear - like, you could be sitting next to me clear. Neither headset is particularly overwhelming, however, and the tuning for these particularly drivers, on either set, is more balanced than some gaming headsets I've tested. For that reason, if you want the bass shaking your eardrums you best look elsewhere. Bringing a decent performance to the competition and a lower price tag, consider the Kingston HyperX Cloud Stinger if you're on a strict budget. This contender kept up with the products that were more than triple its price tag. Its microphone quality was particularly impressive, earning one of the top overall marks in that assessment. Moreover, this headset offers some of the better audio quality out of all the products in its class, is fairly comfortable to wear, and is a super affordable piece of audio equipment.The microphone is easy to remove and additional covers are included so you can pop a plate on and just use the headset as headphones if you’d like. If you own a pair of wireless headphones, you probably won't have much use for this feature, but it’s great for people that don’t have a secondary pair of headphones to listen to music on the go. Opening it up, we see the H6PRO itself, which comes sitting in a pre-cut foam insert which is glued into the bottom of the box. A card box with the accessories is at the bottom with a silver-coloured text print “THE POWER OF AUDIO” and looks premium.Big thanks to EPOS for sending in the H6PRO closed in Racing Green for today’s review. Related reading: To be fair, this isn’t a huge problem as most wired mics don’t have these chat mixer features. And considering that most people tend to hang out in party chat, regardless of their preferred console, I doubt anyone will really notice. That said, Microsoft gets the edge when it comes to fine tuning chat when playing with random gamers online. It’s obvious here that EPOS has aimed for a premium-looking box, the marketing material overall is clear and concise. Inside the headset sat in a foam insert which ensures it arrives in perfect condition after delivery. The accessory box is a good quality card and the silver word print looks excellent.
