Green Chitin and Cloth: – Wash with Terradon Turquoise. – Layer with Lupercal Green, leaving the deepest recesses. – Highlight with Kabalite Green, focusing on the raised areas of the cloth/carapace. – Edge Highlight with Sybarite Green – Edge Highlight any bladed/horned parts of the carapace with Dawnstone. (Larger areas of Chitin on Metamorphs/Purestrains, Patriarch can be carefully Drybrushed instead for a more naturalistic, less clean look). AMLs appear to perform better than the HML against elite infantry at first glance. The consistency and similar ability to wound as the HML, means the AML performs better at each stage of different buffs. This is especially clear, when you consider the Crossfire buff comparison, where the HML has a dominating chance to do nothing whereby the AML has the best chance to kill one model. The consistency of damage will help prevent non-optimal damage from being applied, allowing the AHM to more consistently kill at least one model. However, due to the inability of the AHM to put out anymore than just 2 damage per shot, it is virtually incapable of killing a unit of three Blightlord Terminators in one turn. Emphasize additional support systems with Runelord Brass or Balthasar Gold, harmonizing with the main theme while adding depth. Although not specifically designed for military use, like so many of the utilitarian machines favoured by the Genestealer Cults, it has proven remarkably effective as an outrider and scout vehicle. Build up a few light layers on the smooth areas of the head this way to help blend into the darker skin. – Edge Highlight with Pallid Wych Flesh. I find it really useful to paint the heads as a separate subassembly, it really helps to get the faces right if you have 360 degree access to them, rather than struggling to paint them when they’re surrounded by a high collar. To reveal an ambush marker, select one unit from your army that was set up in ambush and has not yet been set up from an ambush marker:

You can set up this unit anywhere on the battlefield that is more than 6" away from any enemy models, but that unit is not eligible to declare a charge this turn. The Light Vehicle chassis is 50 credits. It needs 2″ of movement (+20 credits), an extra Toughness on the front (call it +10 credits), one more HP (+20 credits), 2 better handling (+20 credits), and there’s no way to get the Outrider’s special rules. Units set up in ambush are considered to be set up on the battlefield (unless they are embarked within a TRANSPORT model that is set up in ambush), even though their models are not actually on the battlefield. Enemy models cannot be set up or moved within 9" of the centre of any of your ambush markers. The first round of base coats are for the skin, and this is pretty much what you can see. I used Carroburg on the more evidently Tyranid hybrids and then various flesh contrasts for the more human range skin tones.
