The Samsung U32J590 adopts the brand’s current design trend of minimalist aesthetics finished in matte bluish gray. Despite its size, the monitor feels and looks sleeker than similar models from other brands such as LG. The premium feel isn’t missing from the J590 series, despite its position as a budget-friendly mixed-use monitor. However, we recommend tweaking the monitor to get the most out of its budget-friendly value. Lowering the brightness and manually adjusting the RGB controls can improve Color DE to 0.8 along with an ideal 6500K temperature. Doing this will reduce the screen’s slightly bluish tint, creating an appearance that’s even suitable for basic photo editing.

The Samsung U32J590 managed to squeeze in a pair of built-in speakers in the slim and budget-oriented monitor. It’s a great addition for basic audio appreciation but is too tinny for entertainment purposes such as gaming and watching movies. Display and Performance Viewing the Samsung U32J590 is perfectly comfortable for the eyes since 4K is more suited to this size. The pixel density of the 32-inch screen doesn’t degrade or soften the edges and details of images, retaining the sharpness and clarity associated with UHD screens. This size is also perfect for PC and console gaming, striking the ideal balance between an LCD TV and a desktop monitor. With possibly best in class input lag, and 99% sRGB coverage suitable for photo and video work, it does have wobble issues, one input is only 30 hertz, and there’s no speakers. Overall build quality is pretty decent but for 350 to 420 dollars, we feel this relies on Samsung’s brand name more than the features it offers. So the Samsung U32J590 has impressive color and brightness with sharp 4K resolution to a more affordable price range. It’s suitable for 4K console gaming with PS5, XBox Series X and PS4 Pro, and we did PC gaming at 4K 60 hertz with a bunch of Cyberpunk 2077 which looked amazing.

In a rare move, I actually looked for software updates for this mon to see if there could be any improvement, and found version 1.0 from April 2018. Ran the EXE file, drivers were installed so the PC recognized the monitor, but there were no extra controls available. Without a USB port, updating firmware on this monitor isn’t possible, so keep this in mind.

Since the PS5, XBox Series X and PC gaming are moving towards 4K, more people are looking for a good cheap 4K monitor to jump to. While this Samsung U32J590 has a number of things gamers are looking for, including low input lag, overall it’s hard to recommend this hands down over other monitors like the Acer 4K we just tested, which has speakers, colorspace options, a clean startup and nice menu, and HDR.Choosing the main menu, we have Picture, with Samsung Magic Bright, settings are Custom, Standard, Cinema and Dynamic Contrast. Sliders for Brightness, Contrast and Sharpness are followed by a color submenu, with RGB sliders and Color Tone, Cool, Normal, Warm and Custom. The Samsung U32J590 is a well-rounded, large display that is affordable and suitable for many uses. The screen is capable of decent imaging quality right out of the box, but tweaking it properly enhances it to a level that’s comparable to higher-tiered models. The monitor’s capabilities and its size make it a great option for PC and console gaming. candala or nits, same thing, is an okay brightness for a display of this size that’s close to you, other 4K monitors start at 250 but we just saw a 300 candala monitor, link up here for that video. It’s decent brightness, but in a pretty bright room it might seem a little dark, again, no HDR support here.
