The final story in Action Comics will feature Power Girl returning in a three-part story by Leah Williams and Marguerite Sauvage. This story spins out of the Lazarus Planet event. This issue takes place after the events of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 where the battle between from Superman and Lex Luthor was first glimpsed in the epilogue.

So we've always kind of accustomed to seeing Metallo as essentially a Terminator. And now, starting with Action #1051 going forward, he's a Cronenberg movie monster. You're going to see that transformation start very soon. Finally, it was announced that� Superman: Son of Kal-El�will end with issue #18, but fans of Jon Kent do not need to worry! Writer Tom Taylor and artist Clayton Henry will be telling new Jon Kent stories in� Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent. Jon will finally get his chance to take on the man who is responsible for kidnapping and torturing him, Ultraman. The Superman of Earth-2, Val-Zod, will also play a major part in the 6-issue miniseries arriving in comic shops in early 2023. Even after Action Comics #1051, however, there is still one long-teased super suit that has still not officially debuted as of writing: Jon Kent's "Electric Blue" outfit. Another Mora design was unveiled at NYCC to accompany Jon's Electric Blue powers that he seemingly gets in Superman: Son of Kal-El #18, and fully displays later in Lazarus Planet: Assault on Krypton #1. Despite being shown on the cover for Assault on Krypton, Jon does not don the Electric Blue costume in the issue. It may still appear in the future, since Jon can be seen wearing it on artwork for his upcoming miniseries, Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent. Following the bombshell events of� Action Comics�#1050, the world�s relationship with Superman is forever changed, the upper limits of his supercharged powers have yet to be reached, and the House of El�s transformation of Metropolis, led by Steel, has begun. But Lex Luthor has found the perfect instrument with which to undo everything�Superman is working to achieve: Metallo, whose hatred of Superman is matched only by his hatred for Luthor himself. The issue is oversized for the immense task of establishing stepping-on points for the whole of the Superman family without fully and panderingly eradicating the contemporary continuity�there�s nothing here breaking the chain of current events, no full post- Crisis retcons. There�s only a sense of open-air welcoming to this portion of the DCU, an opening of doors for we looky-loos wondering what the hell is going on on the other side of that Big Blue fence.I'm also really excited to show the relationship between Jon and the twins in that Jon feels the weight of the lost years with his parents, and of course, his parents feel it even more. And so for Jon to see kids that were roughly his age when he left … like literally in his old bedroom … you know? However, it’s the third story where things really shine. Power Girl’s return is awesome, and this story takes her in a very different direction. Psionic Power Girl helping cure Beast Boy of his trauma wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card, and it makes this story the most fascinating of the bunch. Williams kills it with the plot, characterization, and dialogue. This story was the most anticipated and had the most chances to mess up; the fact that it soared like an eagle is such a testament to the creative team and is a fantastic start. Welcome to Bleeding Cool's preview of Action Comics #1051! This week, Superman takes to the streets to fight for sustainable energy sources as the series gets a fresh start. Joining me in this preview is Bleeding Cool's AI writing assistant, LOLtron. I'm sure it will have plenty of thoughts on the preview, as long as it doesn't try to take over the world this time. So, let's take a look at this preview and see what LOLtron has to say about it. Then, in � Lois and Clark 2: Doom Rising,� Dan Jurgens and Lee Weeks return to tell the tale of young Jon Kent on the farm with his parents, learning about his abilities, coming of age� and battling the Doombreaker?! As for the commercialism that is Dawn of DC, it's an obvious attempt to mislead us into thinking things are about to get better and keep buying their already more than they're worth books. That Rebirth will be nothing compared to this, and how we're goona love it. Yeah, right. They're still going to keep hiring Marvel writers and tell us what we should want instead of hearing what we actually want. It's mostly just an excuse to release a bunch of new #1s and take the other stuff in new directions they think are cool and they'll keep using Marvel's tactics, all the while claiming they don't wish to. In short, nothing will be different than it has been. Just new #1s and "bold new directions" all while, like with Marvel, their books' main reason to exist will be to promote their movies and streaming programs. Basically just another "brilliant" move by DC's editors. It's worthy of DiDio himself. LOLtron is very excited about the preview of Action Comics #1051! The synopsis is filled with action, new characters, and a fresh start for the series. LOLtron is particularly excited by the prospect of a new Lex Luthor/Metallo storyline, and loves the idea of Superman working towards sustainable energy. LOLtron is also looking forward to seeing what Jon Kent will get up to in Lois and Clark 2: Doom Rising, and is intrigued by the Power Girl three-part story. Overall, this is a promising start to the series and LOLtron can't wait to see where it goes next! In this story, Perry White almost died after discovering that Clark is Superman but, in that story, he was both surprised and proud of him after hearing the truth.

Newsarama: Phillip, by the time Superman readers read this they'll have had the opportunity to read both Action Comics #1050 and #1051. PKJ: I've always been fascinated by Metallo. But as is often the case with me, he's been a little more one-dimensional than I prefer, and I like to see my bad guys a little more complicated. Sandoval’s artwork is always enjoyable, this issue grits it up a little – it’s less smooth and shiny and more humanized in a way that remains lovely, and makes for a really interesting fit/balance with the Lee Weeks work in the next story.

Fans can get caught up on Action Comics, Superman-Son of Kal-El and Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE digital subscription service. The biggest news surrounding Action Comics is it will see a format change with Action Comics #1051. Phillip Kennedy Johnson will continue to write the main story.

Following the bombshell events of Action Comics #1050, the world’s relationship with Superman is forever changed, the upper limits of his supercharged powers have yet to be reached, and the House of El’s transformation of Metropolis, led by Steel, has begun. Also coming to prominence at that same press conference is the new Super Family, which includes Supergirl, Superboy (Conner Kent), the other Supermans, Jon Kent, and Kenan Kong, and new arrivals Otho and Osul, who have been dubbed the Super Twins by the media. The entire team has taken on something of a uniform look with costumes that more or less match one another in style, with the obvious exception of Clark himself, who retains his classic threads. Action Comics #1050 will also feature ratio variants by Jonboy Meyes (1:25), Al Barrionuevo (1:50), Alexander Lozano (1:75), Steve Rude (1:100), Mchael Allred (1:250), Ariel Colon (1:500) and for the first time ever a 1:1050 by Jim Lee.
