The progression of pronouns from you to I probably went off unnoticed by the author since he was confused by who were who. Truth be told, the author himself was both you and I. Amazing uncovering. Damn. Father Palahniuk, I did it. Okay. Kidding aside, I think you are somewhere between narcissistic and problematic. However, the book is there to help you. This little piece of magic touches me so deeply that I want to dig my fingers in its papers and hold it tight, forever. I would have liked this much more during my teenage emo phase. Nowadays, it seems cliche and extremely emotionally manipulative. And emotionally manipulative books are those that leave me feeling most emotionless of all. It's slightly better written, but I would recommend this for fans of the modern tumblr quote-style poetry - think Lang Leav, Rupi Kaur and/or Amanda Lovelace.Your salary is not love and your word is not love. Your clothes are not love and holding hands is not love. Sex is not love and a kiss is not love. Long letters are not love and a text is not love. Flowers are not love and a box of chocolates is not love. Sunsets are not love and photographs are not love. The stars are not love and a beach under the moonlight is not love. The smell of someone else on your pillow is not love and the feeling of their skin touching your skin is not love. Heart-shaped candy is not love and an overseas holiday is not love. The truth is not love and winning an argument is not love. Warm coffee isn't love and cheap cards bought from stores are not love. Tears are not love and laughter is not love. A head on a shoulder is not love and messages written at the front of books given as gifts are not love. Apathy is not love and numbness is not love. A pain in your chest is not love and clenching your fist is not love. Rain is not love.

What I didn't like about this is that some of the entries are misplaced. Like some thoughts about love are in On Dying or On Despair (but it's okay, no worries about it). In 2009, for his work as the author of the art/photography project “I Wrote This For You”, he was voted one of the top 5 finalists in the world in the “Best Blogger To Follow” category on mashable.com under his online pseudonym, pleasefindthis. Just pretend you’re in a movie. Be as brave and as full of love as the main character. Because we all need to believe in movies, sometimes.” I recommend this book to jejegirls who are either in love or in need of love or broken or just feeling all the shit the world gladly offers. I Wrote This for You and Only You by Iain S Thomas is a haunting and beautiful collection of poetry paired with photography. I really enjoyed the poem ‘The Illusion of Things Never Changing’. It deeply resonated with my current spiritual and psychological states. Other favourites include 'The Mouth Moves but No Sound Comes Out’, 'The Things I Would Have Said’, 'The Story Can Be Neither Created or Destroyed’, and 'The Truth is Different Every Day’. The poem 'The Age at Which It Happens’ really swung a mallet upside my head. It hit so very close to home. It was during the run up to the disastrous 2016 election that I learned people I had thought would always be a part of my life had vastly different and incompatible values. As this poem says… these are people I'll never look at the same way again. We are no longer friends. And gods but that hurt. It still hurts today. To some part of me, it feels as if they've died. I was already a very mistrustful person, and now I find it even harder to trust people. Highly recommended for those who love poetry.

As much as I respect wordcraft, the author turned out bludgeoning its beauty. The writing was a mixture of simple words crafted ambitiously. Yet, it barely pulled through. Here take a read: Reading those words somehow felt that the author took the words out of my soul and put it on paper. As if he really knew me so well, like a bestfriend I always wanted to have and he easily put into words all I wanted to say. There are so many quotations from the book that I can relate to, words that triggered memories from the past and give a glimpse of a bright future. It is like peeking into my diary and reading all the words I am silently keeping or letters I never send. It tells my story and everyone’s stories too. If you are looking for elegant poetry with wonderful imagery and words put together in a beautiful way you've never thought of before, skip this book. The bad news is, people are crueler meaner and more evil than you’ve ever imagined. The good news is, people are kinder, gentler and more loving than you’ve ever dreamed.”

Rather than being so abstract, the verses are simple yet precisely adequate to convey the meaning. I will recommend again this one to everyone. This book is so real and is a must read if you are interested in poetry, emotions, artwork, or simply want a change of pace from the standard book. This book reminds me of Lang Leav, whose work I do not enjoy. It took me a year to finish this book, which is a pity because I remember being really excited for it at first. After darkness, there is always light and you get reminded of this every morning but still you choose to believe that the night will last forever. Nothing lasts forever. Not the good or the bad. So you might as well smile while you’re here."I guess some of them are made for me. Or maybe not. I get emotionally tangled with the words at times and I can't help but write my responses like there is some kind discourse or argument going on. Iian S. Just like the previous book, this one also revolved around the theme of love, which is pretty clear from the title anyway. The poems were once again hauntingly beautiful, and even though I have read the previous book, I still wasn't ready for the beauty of these books. I noticed, however, that many of the ideas were a lot similar to the ones in I Wrote This For You. The way the content was presented was also in a similar way, so although I loved the pictures attached, I didn't find the idea of paragraphs that appealing. The project, which has proven incredibly popular across the world and gone on to become a best selling book, has also afforded him numerous exciting opportunities, including an invitation to dinner with the US Ambassador to South Africa, Donald Gipps as a consultant on digital development within South Africa, and a speaking spot at TEDx Johannesburg.
