Scope’s objective was to build a new way to recruit quality regular donors at scale and diversify supporter acquisition sustainably. Good Innovations conducted research that showed that parents with primary school children wanted to build their children’s resilience. From this came the idea of providing parents with 12 months of mindful activities to build children’s life skills and create family moments. Scope needed to grow its supporter base to further expand it's services. With low brand awareness and a little understood cause, Scope were over-reliant on Face to Face fundraising, a channel that was rapidly declining in cost-efficiency and quality. Our challenge was to create a new way to recruit quality, regular donors at scale.

A generational change in the way we all approach our daily lives means that mindfulness has entered the public consciousness, as the result of a greater awareness towards mental health. The act of being present with our thoughts and feelings, mindfulness can contribute towards children’s overall sense of wellbeing by improving focus, encouraging calm and helping them learn to cope with difficult emotions. So yes I do highly recommend these cards – they are a brilliant way to connect with your kids and encourage them to be more mindful and support for a truly wonderful charity along the way .Even if you try to make a pompom monster look ugly and scary, it will almost always turn out adorable. Children’s attitudes toward their feelings usually begin to soften when you remind them that the pompom monster represents the same difficult emotions their drawing did. You can compare the two activities to help children understand that the difference is in their perception. Introducing Mindful Monsters to our camps means giving children more opportunities for personal development throughout their time on camp. Both my children liked the cards - liked looking at them, reading them and even sorting them. However, I don't think it made any difference to behaviour. I wonder whether they would work better in the situation where there is one particular thing that's causing issues, e.g. bedtime or getting ready for school, where you could preempt the problem by using the cards? What did you like most about the Mindful Monsters product? I love that there is a variety of cards such as ones for relaxation, concentration, activity etc. They suit a variety of situations. The monster did not go away. He never did what Oliver asked him to. Oliver looked at his monster closely.
