Since I started using the Dolce Gusto machine, my mornings have begun with a perfectly brewed coffee tailored to my taste preferences. The selection of available flavours and types of coffee has expanded my palate as well, giving me the opportunity to try something new every now and then. In addition to coffee, it’s nice to have the option to prepare tea or chocolate-based beverages on those days I crave something different. Descaling coffee machines is a very common and necessary operation for long-term maintenance. Water will circulate through internal pipes, the heating element, the pump, and whatever system is used for coffee preparation. This water will gradually deposit limescale deposits along the circuit. In addition to this, the power button may glow red for a few seconds after you finish brewing a cup of coffee. On some models (Jovia, Oblo, Drop, Stelia, Movenza, Eclipse, Piccolo produced since end 2014) there is a descaling reminder. If the green light on the power button is flashing, depending on the model, it means something different. In those coffee machines that do NOT have an orange light to indicate the need for descaling (Mini Me, Genio, Circolo and Melody 3), the flashing green light means that the descaling cycle is ready or in progress.
