The plot isn't really relied upon and the film is more of an excuse for Meyer to present a load of silly scenes; but that isn't a problem. I wanted to see the home that had been used prominently in ‘Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens’. If you're familiar at all with Russ Meyer's work, you know to expect 1) really big breasts and 2) bizarre filmmaking with strange plots and weird imagery.

At the side of the building sat Russ’ weights bench, just a few yards from a still pristinely-maintained pool. His virtually-patented "up through the bed springs" shots are unmistakable and this film serves as the perfect showcase and record of this unique, yet effective technique. The pseudo documentary style of this production does require a bit of initial thought and while there is a degree of humour it is more of a sly grin than side splitting laughter. By the time he bought the handsome A-frame house at 3121 Arrowhead Drive in the mid 1970s, Russell Albion Meyer had made thirty or so feature films.The style of the film seems to be a parody of the American "apple pie" theme and the story is told by a narrator, who seems to be taking on the role of the "all American workman", the twist being that he's always talking about perversion. By then his life had changed, his brain addled with dementia, his films neglected, and his business affairs sewn up by a housekeeper-turned-assistant-turned administrator-turned-conservator-over-his-physical-being, named Janice Cowart. The movie is based in a small town USA and centers around the married couple of Lammar and Levonna and the sexual frustration of Levonna, here on in ensues a fantastic comedy soft porn romp in which the couple meet various colourful charactors along the journey to help cure Lammar's bedroom leanings, ending up in the fantastic 'Church of Rio Dio Radio' where in lies Eufaula Roop, who has to be seen to be believed.

Was there any news about Russ’ films, and whether they would be made available more widely, perhaps on BluRay, perhaps in film festivals? Over 40 years had passed since Russ shot scenes there, but the place was unchanged, and still a medical and dental center. Currently you are able to watch "Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens" streaming on Plex for free. This was the perfect gift for my Old Man who likes old films and big breasts and it made his day when he got this.Knowing nothing about how a moviola that used to belong to a west coast sexploitation legend works, I needed an east coast sexploitation legend over to give me a crash course. It’s flawed but I highly recommend it as it’s about the most definitive account of Meyer and his films. The young man soon escapes, but she dives down, catches him underwater by fellating him and then overpowers him.

He’d built an extension onto the back of the Arrowhead Drive house so he could escape from prying eyes and work on his films.I bought a house that had a 28-foot ceiling, and we built the sets in the house, because it was scaled in such a way.

I became an unlikely Meyer fan years ago after catching Beyond the Valley of the Dolls on TV late one night. Beneath the Valley is one of Meyer's better known works, largely due to its broader distribution, over-indulgence of feminine beauty and crass humor.I don't think Russ Meyer was really trying to say anything with this film - there's a slight hint of a point stemming from the idea of "Smalltown, USA is a normal small town, but look what goes on behind closed doors!
