Finally, I’ve fitted the 48V, 250W version of the TSDZ2 (ie EU-legal), with the factory firmware. It’s paired with a 12Ah battery. Is the TSDZ2 as good as a dedicated ebike? Also because the pedal sensing is built into the motor unit and it is sensing the torque you put in through the pedals, it is very good at identifying when you need that assistance and blending it in smoothly. Something you don’t get with a standard pedal sensor which generally is either off or on. Value and Conclusions

A difference of 5mm or less won't affect your gear shift but if it is bigger, you may need a new chainring with offset. Please ask us for advice. Generally, the TSDZ2 is reliable. But, problems can and do occur. Sometimes, these may manifest within the first few miles, and others may not happen until the motor has over a thousand miles under the belt. Environmental factors seem to play a part, and if you live in a wet country, it’s worth remembering that the Tongsheng isn’t waterproof.

Torque - Motor torque determines your bike's ability to turn the pedals and increase in speed continually. An e-bike with a higher torque rating is ideal for hill climbing. It’s not as good on hills as the Bafang BBS02 but is fine on moderate hills. Is the Tongsheng TSDZ2 waterproof? Plus I believe it’s possible to tweak the firmware to make the motor non-EU-legal, which would leave you riding an uninsured, un-registered motorbike (not a good situation to be in should you ever find yourself in a collision, regardless of fault). Conclusion – would I buy it again?
