Logitech is one of the largest and most well-recognized manufacturers of software and computer peripherals in the world. They are headquartered out of Switzerland and focus their efforts on innovation and quality. Logitech G is their official brand for gaming peripherals dedicated to providing gamers with the best possible gaming experience through superior products and industry expertise. Comfort is one of the most important factors when it comes to gaming headsets, next to sound quality. The global average for “binge” gaming sessions is reported to be right around 5 hours long. With numbers like those, you can imagine ensuring comfort is a top priority for headset designers. When we take a look at the G535 build quality, there isn’t really much to rave about. The headset’s frame is made entirely of painted plastic, and I wouldn’t count on it withstanding too many drops. However, I can attest that it isn’t cheap flimsy plastic.

If you compare Logitech’s G535 and the G733, the G535 reproduces audio more consistently and has a more neutral sound profile. Logitech’s headsets have always been a little left-field in terms of looks, be it the aircraft headset-inspired looks of the G Pro X Wireless, to the ski-band headband of this Logitech G535 Lightspeed.Working side by side with the frame is the suspension headband. I always used to dislike this style of headband; I hated messing with the ridiculous velcro attachment of my old Steel Series, but Logitech has completely changed my opinion. Since the G733 I have welcomed the ski-goggle-style band with open arms, and the G535 is no different. The band replaces a head cushion and rather than velcro there are two multi-slot attachment points to choose from on each side. These headbands provide a great deal of comfort, distributing the weight and force across a wider area and conforming to the shape of your head, unrestricted by the frame. Lastly, they have sub-par noise isolation and fail to filter out many noises. Therefore, you can easily hear the ambient sound of your housemates or a car engine outside.

One last major pro I really have to give these bands is how well they have done for me with VR. I have found that wearing these style headsets with my Oculus Quest 2 makes for a far more comfortable feel in long sessions. The lightweight nature of the headset definitely doesn’t hurt this either. However, that’s canceled out by their overly emphasized mid and high bass. You can enjoy that extra boom and groove through these headsets. Both Logitech G733 and G535 don’t offer much with their two adjustment notches, and you cannot rotate their cups either.Lastly, these headsets are not portable because their bulky body does not allow room for folding. The Comfort of the G733 However, people who prefer a little more rumble and thump in their audio might face a little disappointment with the slightly underemphasized bass. Multimedia controls are some of the simplest I’ve seen, with just a power button and volume roller. There isn’t a microphone mute function, or a chat/game audio mixer, which is a shame given the G535 Lightspeed’s price. The G535 Lightspeed’s connectivity is as easy as it could possibly be too, with a single USB-A dongle that instantly recognized the headset when plugged into my PC. But is it good enough to feature in our best gaming headset ranking? Let’s find out. Design and Features The microphone is compact and built with an easy flip-up mechanism that also serves to mute it.
