You can easily select your guitar, voice, or both for looping via panel buttons or an optional footswitch.

For your guitar you can have effects like Acoustic Resonance, which dials in more realism and 'natural' tone to guitars with piezo pickups; there's a notch filter for weeding out niggly feedback frequencies; and there are also high-quality chorus and reverb effects here for you. I agree with runnng the Boss after the Aura gives the guitar tone definitely a 'fuller' tone, it just sound big and fat and nice. When I practice with this setup, and you do need to practice with it to get use to it, I close my eyes sometimes and and the reverbs make me think I am at a bar playing. Not only is it easy to tweak the harmony intervals, but it’s easy to tweak the timbre of the harmonies and easy get the levels to blend nicely. This was also the only pedal that would occasionally have me verbalizing my excitement over some of the sounds I could get out of it… The only features I wish it had from the other pedals are the VE-8’s “acoustic resonance” and guitar delay, and the longer looping time offered by the other pedals.I've checked out a few videos on this subject ( all for apple mac) and it appears that I've got everything connected correctly. After owning the gadget for a while, a few foibles have turned up, nothing to change my mind about how great it is but. It wasn’t a big deal when just playing around, but it would be pretty devastating were that to happen in a live setting.

The VE-8 also has harmonies that can sound beautiful and many circumstances, but I found them harder to dial in. The demos sound much better than the product seems like it SHOULD sound - and not just the IK manufacturer demos, even videos online by users.
