I was probably the first one on FM who posted this issue. Mine doesn't have the davetail to slide into the place, I tried a couple times but just couldn't put it in the slot. I returned it to B&H the same afternoon I received it. But some folks said theirs worked fine. Anyway, I am not a fan of using the screw to attach the foot to the lens. I like the knob mechanism Song uses, which RRS is using, I believe the Kirk foot will use the knob mechanism too. In today’s field review, I’ll tell you whether the new Nikon Z 180-600 f/5.6-6.3 has eliminated those complaints. If you’re curious whether Nikon listened to the sighs of its customers, read on. Starting at 300mm, the aperture changes to f/6.0 and stays that way until 500mm. It’s only in the 500-600mm range that the aperture drops to f/6.3. If you want a 600mm lens with a brighter aperture, Nikon’sZ 600mm f/4 is the most obvious answer, but it also costs more than nine times as much. I started my series of complaints about the Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 with the autofocus speed. And if I’m guessing correctly, you’re wondering which way the 180-600mm has moved in this regard. If not, what would be the advisable setup in which I would need to swap the least amount of time. I will proably shoot the Lens 3/10 handheald (so Peakdesign) 6/10 on the Fluid Had and 1/10 on the Ballhead.
