First was curiosity as to which older people might feature in the pack—what would gelatinous versions of mature figures such as Charlotte Rampling, Helen Mirren, Jack Nicholson, and Clint Eastwood look like? Jelly babies were born at the end of the First World War, although at the time they were christened Peace Babies. Just like their younger relatives, the all new Jellyatrics each have their own name, colour, characteristics and, of course, flavour: Bryan Bashful, for instance, is a retired university professor with a walking stick and is raspberry flavoured, while Frau Zimmer tastes of oranges and likes baking.

These superannuated jelly babies (created to celebrate 90 years of Jelly Babies) prompted predictable good natured banter, allowing my mind to wander off on a variety of confectionery and gerontological fugues.

Sent these to my in laws as we get on very well and I wanted to give them a giggle especially since not being able to see them with lock down, they went down extremely well.

Manufacture [ edit ] Jelly Babies in the UK are manufactured at Cadbury Trebor Bassett (the former Bassett's factory) in the Owlerton suburb of Sheffield. The main setting of Pyramids, Djelibeybi is about two miles (3200m) wide, along the 150-mile (240km) length of the Djel. Which is probably a good thing, as the thought of eating granny-shaped sweets is a bit weird, but then you could say the same of jelly babies, I guess.
