It’s really pushing a respectful approach – an approach that validates and supports rather than berates / humiliates. The Explosive Childis a must for the many parents, teachers, and professionals who attempt to guide, teach, and work with difficult, hard-to-manage, and easily frustrated children. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The suggestions of how to go about solving problems is not realistic and really life doesn’t always work that way.

Amazing, really informative and useful book to help understand my ADHD child more than I thought I did. This has helped me understand my child so much better and it's empowered me as a parent that we are doing okay, that my child is doing amazing with what he has to deal with and it's also helped me feel more empowered to get the medication which we've been desperately trying to get for the last few years. I have never come across such a brilliantly clear and straightforward book which hits the nail on the head in every way. Space to make notes at the end of each chapter and real life examples, straight from Sarah‘s therapy room, of what works, what doesn’t and why.Sarah has worked in four English prisons and been dismayed at the number of diagnosed, but more often undiagnosed, ADHD kids who end up in prison. What comes across on every page of this wonderful book is a genuine caring and compassion for these youngsters and their families.
