Admittedly, this batch of stories feels a bit goofy, and I would hardly call any of them essential for readers of Captain Britain. It’s nice that they’re collected here for the sake of completion, though. Claremont has written many stories for other publishers including the Star Trek Debt of Honor graphic novel, his creator-owned Sovereign Seven for DC Comics and Aliens vs Predator for Dark Horse Comics. He also wrote a few issues of the series WildC.A.T.s (volume 1, issues #10-13) at Image Comics, which introduced his creator-owned character, Huntsman.

Getting through those later issue was a real chore so it was nice to get to the two part Marvel Team-Up issues by Claremont and Bryne. Beautiful crisp John Byrne artwork, and in full colour again! This is Captain Britain in New York coming into conflict, then teaming-up (as is the way) with Spider-Man, against the villain Arcade (in his debut appearance), who would go on to bother the X-men many times over the years. It's a fun story. Also a member of Calibur alongside that dimension's versions of Spider-Girl, Iron Fist, Hulk and Dr. Strange. She was sometimes known as Captain Saxonia. Betsy finds Brian on his college campus to tell him that Jamie has been in a terrible car accident. She was present and saved Jamie from burning then got him to the hospital. That's when she took one of Jamie's cars to find Brian. They speed off to a hangar where they board a private plane (because she's a charter pilot) and, in the snow, head towards the hospital.Post Moore, the comic falls on its face again. Jamie Delano tries to make keep things interesting, even using threads left by Moore's run, but ultimately comes up with 14 issues of just okay comics. There's some good moments, but on the whole the fire was gone. When Moore leaves (over 'unpaid invoices'?) the series weakens substantially but that does not make it bad just a little less interesting and more episodic.
