Tattu’s seven-spice seared tuna was the dish of the night, but featured only enough caviar ‘to cover a Barbie doll’s forehead’. Each bar is set in a mould close to our Celtic hearts. The depiction in relief of Y Ddraig Goch is more like a work of art than a mere chocolate bar. It’s almost too gorgeous to eat … but not quite! This bar is the perfect gift idea for your favourite foodie, family, friends or a little "to me, From me" gift to yourself! A great bar for nibbling on while you cheer on Wales at the Rugby, or for enjoying with a nice hot cuppa during a relaxed movie night. Whatever the occasion, it can only be made more enjoyable by the addition of delicious Welsh chocolate! Tattu is divided into four separate residences, themed around phoenix, koi, dragon and tiger, which means the dining room is confusing to navigate around, although, on the day I ate there, it was staffed plentifully with the sort of people who let you wander about for ages looking for your table, the bathroom or the lifts without quite realising it’s their job to steer you. Oh, how I miss the days when places were staffed by folk who had worked in a restaurant before, but, alas, here we are. Our recipes are inspired by traditional 'Parisian Hot Chocolates' which have traditionally been sold in and among the old street of Paris. As a result, we use blends of real, decadent Belgian chocolate with a little sugar to enhance and bolden the flavour. This is how hot chocolate should be... Sorry – I have more sweets for you. This time it’s cake, because today we managed to pull off our first chocolate dragon. W had a small birthday party – just cousins, aunts, grandmas and grandad and a few friends. He wanted hot dogs and Cheezies. We added mini burgers, peaches, blueberries and a tray of veg (tiny local carrots, radishes and pea pods) with garlic & basil Swiss dressing from Mary and Ernie– all easy stuff and not much in the way of cooking, so there isn’t much to pass on.So go ahead, show some Welsh support, and take a big bite of the most indulgent and beautiful milk chocolate bar you’ve ever tasted or seen. One tip: icing does not like to be spread over the sides of cut cakes – we put ours into a large ziploc bag and squeezed it on, then spread it gently, coaxing it into the nooks and crannies. You could do a crumb coat – frost it without worrying about crumbs, then chill or freeze, then add a second layer of icing. (The crumbs being happily trapped in the first coat.) We didn’t have room in our freezer for a tray of ice cubes, let alone an entire dragon.
