Oral NSAIDs, including ibuprofen, can sometimes be associated with renal impairment, aggravation of active peptic ulcers, and can induce allergic bronchial reactions in susceptible asthmatic patients. Directions: For full instructions read the enclosed patient information leaflet. Squeeze out a 2 to 5 cm length of gel onto the affected area, enough to thinly cover it, then massage gently until absorbed. Apply up to three times daily with individual doses administered at least 4 hours apart. Wash hands after use, unless treating them. Allergic reactions (particularly in people who have a history of asthma or allergic problems), such as: if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of Ibuleve Maximum Strength listed in Section 6; Adults and children of 12 years and over:Use 2 - 5cm of gel (50 - 125mg of ibuprofen) on the affected area. Use every 4 hours, if you need to. Ibuprofen gel is a topical analgesic and anti-inflammatory gel to relieve pain and inflammation in your body. It is most commonly used for the relief of:This medicine contains 1.25 mg benzyl alcohol in each 125mg, which is equivalent to 0.01mg/mg. Benzyl alcohol may cause allergic reactions and mild local irritation. if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients in this product listed in Section 6; If you're taking the tablet that melts in your mouth, put it on your tongue, let it dissolve and then swallow. You do not need to drink any water. Neonates, infants born prematurely, those with low birth weight, those with an unstable gastrointestinal function or who have serious illnesses may require special consideration. For any infant, if a drug is prescribed to the nursing mother, it should be at the lowest practical dose and for the shortest time. When drug administration is unavoidable and breastfeeding is to continue, minimisation of exposure of the infant to the drug may sometimes be achieved by timing the maternal doses to just after a feeding episode. Infants exposed to drugs via breast milk should be monitored for unusual signs or symptoms. Interactions between the drug received by the infant from the mother's milk and medication prescribed for the infant should also be considered, for example, when the drug given to the infant may prevent metabolism of the drug received via breast milk.

Do not use ibuprofen gel if you are more than 6 months pregnant, and do not use it if you are breastfeeding. What is the strongest ibuprofen gel?

If you have pain all the time, your doctor may recommend slow-release ibuprofen tablets or capsules. You'll usually take these once a day in the evening or twice a day. Leave a gap of 10 to 12 hours between doses if you're taking ibuprofen twice a day. How to take tablets, capsules, granules and liquid If you experience any of the following side effects, stop using this product immediately and tell your doctor:Very rarely, the following side effects can happen with ibuprofen, although these are extremely uncommon with products such as Ibuprofen Pain Relief Gel Maximum Strength that are applied to the skin. If you experience any of the following, stop using this product immediately and tell your doctor: • Allergic reactions (particularly in people who have a history of asthma or allergic problems), such as: • unexplained runny nose and watery eyes, or, in more serious cases, asthma or aggravated asthma involving breathing difficulties, wheezing or chest tightness; • generalised allergic skin reactions involving itch, swelling, inflammation, redness and • other more serious generalised allergic reactions possibly involving unexplained nausea and vomiting, swollen eyes, face or tongue, difficulty swallowing, dizziness or light-headedness. If you take ibuprofen 3 times a day, leave at least 6 hours between doses. If you take it 4 times a day, leave at least 4 hours between doses.

Ibuprofen takes 1 to 2 days to work when putting it directly onto your skin. Always test ibuprofen gel on a small area first, and use 1-4 cm of product in each application. Apply the gel as a thin layer over the affected area and gently rub the gel in until it is completely absorbed. Do not use more gel than is recommended, and make sure you wash your hands after use! This is a medicine; Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist. At the time of writing there are is limited published experience concerning the use of Ibuprofen during breast feeding. Ibuprofen appears in breast milk in very low concentrations and unlikely to affect the breast-fed infant adversely. Because of its extremely low levels in breast milk and short half-life ibuprofen is a preferred choice as an analgesic or anti-inflammatory agent in nursing mothers.
