If you take a stereoscopic picture, it’s something which you can walk into at any time in the future and experience echoes of what you felt at that moment. In Brian May’s own words, and over 300 previously unseen 3-D photographs, this book is a series of glimpses of life with the rock band Queen, seen from the inside for the first time. More and more we're thinking, 'Well this album could have some new stuff on it,'" said May, "and that would make it much more interesting for fans. As part of the promotion for Brian’s forthcoming book Stereoscopy Is Good For You: Life in 3-D, a leading London photography gallery shall run a five-month exhibition, showcasing some of the captivating imagery.

The result was an avalanche of great material, and it was then a labour of love to choose the ones you will find here. As soon as you look at them in the stereoscope, you're walking into a parallel universe of skeletons and devils. We had a dream of doing great gigs and everything, but it happened way way way bigger than we could have anticipated. Here we reveal for the first time the front cover, the beautiful image taken by the very talented Jane Sabini. I am particularly interested in how photography can help people express their creativity more effectively, or deal with mental health issues and other challenges.These images from the 19th century seem like a long way from the computer-generated 3D that today's viewers are accustomed to seeing in movie theaters. Viewed in the 21st century OWL stereoscope (included), the magical pictures, and the journey they represent, are revealed in their full depth and splendour. Even long after Queen had scored numerous hits and performed on some of the world's biggest stages, the band's success still amazes May. We have a yearning to hear things from a vinyl record, because there’s something in your head which just loves that smoothness of a real analogue signal.
