The T5V features a 5-inch woofer that is capable of producing deep, rumbling low end, and a 1.9-inch tweeter that delivers clarity in the high end. The new U-ART accelerated ribbon tweeter is mated to a precision waveguide with the same dispersion-control attributes as the High Frequency Propagation (HFP) waveguide used in Adam Audio's flagship S Series monitors. The U-ART tweeter provides you with an incredibly wide sweet spot. This means you are free to move around your desk knowing you will hear the same frequencies while mixing. The compact design of the T5V ensures it can be comfortably fitted onto any desktop and workspace. The colormap provides you the locations with the best (green) and worst (red) listening experience.As for cons, is that they have the power button on the rear. But i have plugged them both on a power tile with power button so i can power them on and off easily. So not that much of a problem.

I substituted the JBL 305P Mark II. Again, no contest. The 305p had far less bass and could not play nearly as loud.

With its 5” woofer the bass-frequency response of the T5V extends to 45 Hz. The new U-ART tweeter, a breakthrough solution for use in high-resolution recording and mixing on a budget, goes up to 25 kHz and is mated to a precision waveguide with the same dispersion-control attributes as the High Frequency Propagation (HPS) waveguide used in ADAM Audio’s flagship S Series monitors. The waveguide’s highly uniform dispersion of high frequencies provides an incredibly wide sweet spot that frees you from being glued to a rigid mix position while working. Having previously owned the Emotiva Airmotiv 4, I couldn't help but draw comparisons. The T5Vs certainly have a more wholesome sound, but they lose a touch of the 'sparkle' that made the Emotiva's stand out. It's akin to having a hearty meal but missing that sprinkle of seasoning that adds an extra zing.

So I pulled in the Kali LP6. I was quite surprised that the Adam T5V with its smaller woofer was able to once again produce more bass. I think this is due to the shelving of the upper bass in LP6. Regardless, the T5V sounded much warmer and balanced due to more bass energy. And it could play even louder than the LP6! The excellent acoustic characteristics, refined dimensions and superb cost/performance ratio make this monitor ideal for use in most situations, whether it’s music, video or broadcast production. There is a great line in one of my favorite movies, Good Will Hunting: "I don't know that she is perfect... the key is whether you are perfect for each other." The Adam T5V is not perfect but manages the compromises in the this very low price range incredibly well. The ability produce lots of bass and loudly so puts it a clear step ahead of the competition. Yes, you pay a bit more for that but it is well worth it. The ADAM Audio T5V Studio Monitor is designed to produce accurate sound, allowing you to hear frequencies clearly. This allows you to create clean, punchy, and professional mixdowns and productions. The T5V Studio Monitor provides you with fine tune controls that allow you to tailor the frequency response to perfectly suit the room or position they are in.

The T5V monitor delivers extremely high performance, producing 106dB SPL per pair. This is provided by the integrated new Class D amplifiers delivering 20W power to the tweeter, and 50W power to the woofer. The only logistical issue worth mentioning, particularly if you’re considering the T5V for home use, is one that applies to the vast majority of studio monitors: the separate gain controls on the rear of each speaker aren’t intended for use like a volume control on a hi-fi amplifier. Instead, you set the T5V’s gain controls to a level that produces an acceptable maximum volume when your laptop, PC or whichever device is connected has its volume set to 100%, then control the volume solely via the connected device. For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs.
