Description

Synthetic wax is also referred to as paint sealant. Making use of synthetic polymers that bond with your car’s paint to create a tough layer of protection. They can last up to 12 months but won’t offer the same shine as carnauba wax. It resists UV light, cold, frost, acid rain, exhaust fumes, bird lime (provided it is removed within 21 days) and solvents. Different formulas have different ingredients. However, they all are relatively versatile and very well able to work with different surfaces, including but not limited to painted steel, fiberglass, metal, regular glass, clear plastic, etc. Both will create a protective layer for your car’s paint from UV rays, water and other contaminants but do not last as long as synthetic waxes. You’ll typically need to wax your car every six weeks if you use carnauba wax. Most detailers will recommend using a clay bar first if you're wanting to apply wax to your car. Once professionally appliedto your customer’s vehicle, Ceramic Coat leaves an extremely durable and high-gloss finish which prevents pollutants from impacting their car’s paintwork. Pure carnauba wax is yellow in colour and expensive but will give a deep shine and excellent protection. White carnauba wax contains additives including beeswax and turpentine and is cheaper to buy but will still protect your paintwork. Both types are available in paste, spray and liquid form.I was gifted a bottle of the Williams Waterless Wash ‘N Wax and two microfibre cloths – both necessary to get the full effect of the product. One cloth to do the cleaning, and one to do the buffing afterwards. To clean your car all you need to do is spray some of the liquid and simply wipe/scrub it away. I was surprised at how well it did work to be honest. Similarly to its competitor Polished Pigs, Bear Car Care is a brand started by two enthusiasts. Again, to get a fine spray you have to adjust the trigger nozzle, which can be annoying as you have to find the sweet spot every time you use it. It’s definitely worth the trouble, however, as Brilliance performed well in the cleaning test, coming in just behind our top two. The hybrid formula left a finish that continued repelling water for days to come, so it performed well on the beading front.

Car wax works the same but on a much larger scale and the layer it forms is invisible. A good car was won't wear off easily and will protect your paint from heat, UV rays, water and other contaminants. Some of the more expensive waxes will also provide a nice deep shine.Make sure your car is as clean as possible and towel dry. Inspect the paint to see if polishing will be needed before you apply your wax. There isn't much point waxing a scruffy, stone chipped mess of a car. If your paint is looking good then all you need to do is make sure your car isn't in direct sunlight before you set to work waxing it. Thankfully it only took me around 15-20 minutes to do my car, so that’s not bad. And that’s with photo breaks… I could have buffed it a lot better though, let’s be real now. Like I said, arm ache is a thing. And hey look, my car is actually glittery/sparkly. Who knew?! (It actually does have glitter in the body paint… Never noticed that before.)
