Although it does have that air freshner Christmas candle and a bit of fermented sausage smell to it,its very sweet warm and spicy oriental that still makes it very pleasant. This fragrance is the one I get the most compliments on, but only if I lightly spray on fabric (I adore this on wool! Read about this perfume in other languages: Deutsch, Español, Français, Čeština, Italiano, Русский, Polski, Português, Ελληνικά, 汉语, Nederlands, Srpski, Română, العربية, Українська, Монгол, עברית. My love affair with this perfume began over twenty years ago, when I smelled it from a distance, on a burlesque dancer. As soon as I spray it, I recognise the scent, I don’t know from who or where, but I know I’ve smelled it many times before, and I instantly love it.

It may just be the power of suggestion, but I definitely get the "gentle giant" vibe they are going for, from the strong spices contrasting with the soft flowers and wood. Oh, she's having a great time just munching and slurping away, but the whole thing is making me nauseous. I think it's distantly related to Ropion's Dune and the explosive Samsara, but it takes more obvious inspiration from Chanel Coco (also has a delicious raisin-y touch) and Feminite du Bois (woody cinnamon and dark berries).

Opens with heavy headache inducing spices fighting for attention, with cloves and cardamom standing on top. I don't mind (actually kind of like that smell, I find the same tone in Bottega Veneta edp and Dior Fahrenheit and I find it addictive), but I'm not sure if it's because the bottle is so old and the scent has aged or if it's part of the original formula.

It’s like the hug of an Indian aunt who spends most of the day cooking all kinds of wonderful Indian dishes. It is as if this scent represents the characteristics of an elephant; who despite their magnitude and wild instincts, also have feelings, are sensitive and intelligent. The fragrance is a mix of spicy clove and sweet licorice, I was surprised that cinnamon isn't listed.Don’t get me wrong, SL is right up my alley, and I’ll never let go of my Jeux de Peau, but Chergui is on thin ice because although beautiful, it doesn’t develop as well on me as others I have in the same vein do—if you own CD Addict, in the first and second formulations, I swear there’s a bit of Chergui going on there in between the two—and a few others are outta here.

People who don't even wear orientals, not mentioning spicy orientals fall in love with this fragrance. I hate to be that girl but it really makes me think of pumpkin pie or a chai latte, it has those cozy, delicious spices that make you smell edible but it still has some grounded florals to keep it smelling designer and nuanced.It’s not exactly spicy and powerful in the empowering designer way, but it’s unusual and smile-inducing once it’s dries down a bit. It’s gorgeous, but definitely a ‘bomb’ I think I may need a full bottle, it’s discontinued and getting harder to find! I am guessing that with added humidity and warmth in summer it may well turn into a simmering subtropical rainforest. The 5 ml I have is going to be enough to last me my lifetime, but I'm glad to have it and am pleased by the bold but not thoughtless execution. I absolutely love it, but am treading carefully when applying especially when I will be in confined spaces.
