Description

Thicker strings are harder to break and they tend to yield a little more low-end tone, but you’ll find that they’re harder to bend. VERITAS™ Electric Guitar Strings maintain their tone, tuning stability and intonation thanks to Coated Core Technology™, a process of coating the round core wire, which locks the wrap wire in place and extends string life by protecting the core from corrosion. If you are a bass player and you’re thinking of getting a D’Addario set with colored ends then the color code, in this case, is quite similar to electric and acoustic guitars. Now, 'ease' of playing often comes down to the gauge of string - something which is entirely subjective - but we want to make sure that the strings feel smooth, and are without imperfections. They feature a hexagonal core wire and a nickelplated steel wrap wire to maintain brightness and feel.

Their argument is that the coating can muffle the sound somewhat hindering it’s natural brightness and resonance. Some string brands put each string in an envelope that is labeled with the string it contains so you can know which one is which. As strings age they go dull and lose their vibrance, as well as making your guitar sound like the intonation is out as you move up and down the fretboard. That's all down to their carefully considered construction that sees the strings manufactured in the US for top quality. It’s often said that thicker strings on a shorter-scale guitar, like a Fender Jaguar for example, feel better than lighter gauges as they add a little more tension. At this point in my guitar career, I don’t feel like I need color-coded strings, but I can’t deny the fact that they can be extremely helpful for new guitarists that can avoid putting the wrong string in the wrong place. This process is about your strings reaching a stable tuning, after which you won't need to mess with them too much. If you’re tuning down, as many metal players do, a heavier gauge set of strings will hold their tuning better, as the tension becomes more comparable to that of a lighter set in standard tuning. All strings include the neon colored K3™ coating, delivering longevity, more projection, fewer unwanted overtones, plus enhanced clarity and articulation. To put it simply, I’m a firm believer that if something can make your life easier as a guitarist, in this case, the colored ends of a string set, then you need to at least give it a try!This can be most noticeable at the nut as the string passes across it (especially if you are changing between tunings frequently) and also the area where the strings are struck with a pick around by the pickups or soundhole. It’s quite unfortunate that the colored coating doesn’t last long and it will noticeably wear off because of the friction created by your fingers, or pick. That said, the resurgence in popularity of pure nickel strings suggests that players still value that vintage experience, and in terms of warm tone and smooth playability, they are hard to beat. Depending on the severity of the allergy, coated strings have often been a viable option for some players.
