The NLT would lean more toward a “thought-for-thought” translation philosophy (putting greater emphasis on the intended original meaning of a passage) while the NIV would lean a bit more literal in its translation philosophy (putting slightly more emphasis on translating each word with its original language equivalent). Both translation philosophies have their merits. I’m a member of the Central Bible Translation Committee for the New Living Translation (NLT), so I am of course biased in that direction! Charts & Diagrams—Hundreds of features help the reader better visualize difficult concepts or relationships and also shows their significance. Bible Gateway interviewed Ron Beers, general editor of the Life Application Study Bible, Third Edition, (Tyndale House/Zondervan, 2019). Why is it important that the original LASB editors were reassembled with a team of next generation female editors to produce this third edition? it would be helpful if default templates could be made so new notes would start with a certain set of words and paragraphs since sermons/classes follow a pretty set format. What I have done as a workaround is I just created some notes which I copy and then paste into a new note I create for each sermon/class, but it is annoying. Search has never been easier or faster. Maps The software is pretty good, but it is missing some important features. 1st, there is no way to attach anything in notes, such as of sermon/class handouts, slideshow pictures, or pictures taken with a camera. I have to use Apple's OCR Scan Text for pictures and paste the words into the notes for each sermon/class, but that still means any photos/pictures aren't included and instead I have to make a comment to view photos taken on that day to view pictures I took of handouts or slideshow.

I'd give the software 5/5 stars if it wasn't for the inconvenience of not being able to have attachments as that is the biggest issue.There’s no need to spend lots of money on paper books. Ron Beers: Zephaniah 1:4-6 talks about how the Israelites’ worship of idols led them away from God and thus recognizing his guidance. Today we don’t worship idols of wood or stone, but we wrestle with “idols of technology.” The life application note bridges the gap between worshiping idols of wood and stone in ancient times to worshiping our cell phones, social media, and even our circle of friends, making the point that anything that takes first place in our lives is an idol and how important it is to recognize that. Simply a blessing! Been using now for four years. I preach at a prison four days a week, then I take the same men out and we work together. And this app is my main tool. It enables me to save my scriptures that my pastor teaches on from sermons at my church and refreshes me as I put together sermons for Monday through Thursday. I like the search capability when I am building sermons as well. I spend time with many people that are un-churched and non-scriptural if you will, So this thing is extremely handy. That doesn’t sound very technical because when you’re out in the street, life is not technical, It is spiritual. I would like for all the people involved in this project to know that you are blessing many many folks especially myself, and all the people whose lives I am blessed to be able to touch. I would like to thank you very very much and please continue your work in Jesus name. So it sent me on a search through all the available study Bibles on the market. I found study notes about Wormwood but no notes on Worry. I found notes on Phylacteries, but not a single note on Purpose or Priorities. I found notes on the town of Gozan but nothing on Goals. This research begged the question: If the Bible is supposed to be a blueprint for living, then there should be plenty of verses that show us how to live as a disciple of Jesus, how we can live transformed lives, how to bear much fruit (as Jesus put it). But not a single study Bible did this—there was lots of information, but no application.
