But hey, it was my first time I made a helmet, so I just brushed it off and started working on a version 2 from the things I've learned! Because of the (quite unexpected, to be honest) positive reactions I got on my previous cosplay project blog blog/20041 , I decided to also make a blog about my Chi-Chi costume project! Lots of people wanted to make pictures of us when we were talking and he even had a "master Roshi approves of this" sign with him. In some of the newer games and media young Chi-Chi's design has more blue-ish green, so I got quite some comments why I didn't go for that color version, but I think this bold green is a lot better.

But on the other hand, my boyfriend was laughing like crazy too because of how in-character Roshi was, so we had lots of fun! The Chichi Dragon Ball Z Cosplay is perfect for all young girls who don't let themselves be walked on. To be honest, I couldn't really point out in the design what these were, so I ended up just making small covers to have the effect. That way the weight of the cape was on the top, my chest and my back instead of resting on the shoulderplates.

I had quite a hard time finding the right shade of dark blue, but I'm pretty content with how this color turned out! I’ve considered writing up a glove tutorial eventually since I wanted to toss one together for Sora’s (since a tutorial for that is non-existent) XD I’ve come across a few here and there. I like with Lilith how she comes over as very sexy, but is still quite clothed (she only has bare shoulders). If someone that studied fashion/clothes design or a professional clothes/costume maker sees this, he/she would probably smack me on the back of my head. On the other hand a few things on stage went bad, so I think I'm not that sad about it, as I would prefer not to see it back as I don't feel very comfortable about it.

The necklace is worn at the part where it bodysuit changes to my real body and it (hopefully) helps to make everything look more natural. I always start out with a paper prototype and if that prototype works out well, I make patterns from them. It's perfect for working on cosplay, because I know that everything I make on the mannequin will fit me too! She looked incredibly cute, was very though, but became all girly and fiddly when her crush was around! After being happy with the shape and a lot of sanding, I started measuring out where all the details were going to be.I got a lot of questions from people asking how I the shoulderplates stay in place because there is nothing it attaches to. In Chi-Chi's character design most of her hair pieces are quite "square" and I decided I wanted to literally recreate this effect. Because of all the waiting for drying I was going through, I decided to draw a face on the wighead (also because the wighead was already showing a lot of damages because of the heating shaping I did on it), so eh try to not pay too much attention to it.

Seriously, industry-professionals having a Youtube channel that they use to show how they make their amazing stuff are the best!And now let's get to the part how not every idea is a good idea and I sometimes think to myself "why did I even try to make this work"? I checked all the photographers from last years' competition and a few new ones, but almost everyone seemed to have skipped going to the solo competitions and I only found pictures from the duo and group competitions. If I would re-do it, I would make a lot of the parts cleaner, especially the silver details that show some small breakages. Instead of following rules, I'm more the type to test out and adjust parts while I'm making them (only when I know what I'm doing, with the helmet above I used a tutorial).

As an act I decided to do the part with Chi-Chi's first appearance in the series (where she battles a dinosaur) combined with her picking flowers for Goku. View spoiler Hide spoiler I just re-measure myself every once in a while to see if I didn't get a lot fatter or thinner and see if the mannequin is still good. The best way to fix this mess was filling everything up that I damaged, re-sand it and repaint a lot of parts over again. Considering the quite special sized and detailed gloves Chi-Chi has, this was no option this time and I had to make them fully myself.Even though it's a very important part when making a costume and something you can't escape if you want to make helmets/armor/props. Considering the size of these boots, I decided to grab my favorite pair of sneakers and make a pattern around it for her boots. Making the details for the chest plate made me sweat and curse quite a lot, because it was so small and fragile! I started with making this costume for fun, but I was lured into signing up for a cosplay competition with it, so I also had a though deadline where I couldn't remake every part that I wanted from it! I haven't watched Kill La Kill (yet), but I don't see myself doing one of those super-bare transformed outfits if that was what you were trying to say, lol!
