Description

Once a player has at least one building on a property they may add entrances to their hotels. One entrance can be placed on each square of the board. If a player lands on an entrance for a hotel belonging to another player they must pay the owner to stay at that hotel. The cost of staying depends on the number of buildings and facilities in the property. Keep this card in case you land on an opponent's entrance: you will not pay anything. Use it also after throwing the dice to determine how long he will stay in that hotel. This action can also be read as Steal An Entrance from an opponent's hotel: just switch the side of the street tile it is on. It can be used on two of your own Hotels also, as long as they are across from each other. Reserved spaces cannot be relocated. Gather all the pieces. Make sure your Hotel Tycoon game includes a tower and four base pieces, add-on pieces, hotel guest cards, matchboards, instructions, dollar bills and coins. Players must be creative, think strategically, and make wise investment decisions which is a great way to brush up on skills in an engaging manner.

When one player runs out of money and has no more property to auction off, they are eliminated from the game. End of Game Depending on his throw, he must pay following the star rating your hotel has earned, as shown in the Title Deed. He then moves on as usual on his next turn. The objective of Hotel Tycoon is to completely bankrupt your opponents (insert evil laugh here) as you build up an empire of hotels to rival the Las Vegas strip. If the player cannot afford to stay at the hotel they must put their own properties up for auction to raise money. A player who loses all of their money and properties is out of the game. The last player remaining is the winner. Place the other buildings, recreational facilities, entrances, and titles to the side of the gameboard.If the land is owned by an opponent, but no buildings are on it, you may buy it by paying the cost of the land to the owner: the owner's consent is not needed, and you take immediate possession of the Title Deed. Obtain planning permissions using the special dice, and put up first the main building, than any other upgrade When you land on a buying space you may buy the land adjacent to only one of the sides of that space. Ask the Bank if you may see the Title Deed: if you can afford it, pay the cost of the land to the Bank and keep the Title Deed. Generally when I talk about board games the first thing I want to talk about is the gameplay. After all if the gameplay is bad the game is not going to be very enjoyable. When you talk about Hotels though you really have to start by talking about the game’s components. Of all my childhood memories of the game the one thing that always stood out was the components. While the components don’t live up to the level of today’s designer board games, there is just something about Hotels’ components that draw you in. While the components only serve a cosmetic role it is hard to not love the 3D hotel buildings as it feels like you are really building up a boardwalk as you add buildings to the board. The buildings are only made of cardboard and plastic and yet they really add a lot to the game’s theme. I would say that Hotels has some of the best components that I have seen in a Milton Bradley game. The fact that I remembered the components from a board game that I haven’t played in 10-20 years shows exactly how memorable they are.

When you land on any Build Space, and you own a Title Deed somewhere, you may want to put up one or more buildings on only one of your properties. Deal out 8 matchboard cards for each player – these are essentially rooms or movement areas within your hotel complex that indicate where guests can stay or what activities they can do when they stay there! These match together according to different images associated with rooms within the hotel (ie two palm trees means a swimming pool). Once you have shuffled these cards well enough distribute them among players who will be playing Hotel Tycoon!
