Not only do you get a solid Wii sensor bar, but this set also lets you play your Wii on your newer TV in 1080P output. While the history of this device is interesting, the hard work from both sides wouldn't matter much if the device can't deliver. While playing a first person shooter with jitter would be bad enough, unfortunately they have bigger problems. The DolphinBar uses an absolute coordinate system, just like a drawing tablet or a touchscreen. Absolute coordinates are very simple - the bottom left corner is used as a fixed point of reference (0,0) and all points along the 2D surface are coordinates to the right and up from that point in X and Y values. Speed and direction are essentially irrelevant, since the computer always has the fixed point to compare to and just measures its distance from that point at all times. So in this video I’m going to show you how we can emulate the complete Wii experience using your PC. For this you are going to have to buy some specialist parts as your normal controllers just won’t give you the full experience. There are some games you can play with something like an Xbox controller, but you’ll be missing out on the whole point of gaming on the Wii. Parts You’ll Need The Mayflash DolphinBar is a combination Bluetooth Adapter/USB Sensor Bar that can simplify connecting Wii Remotes. It does not support Bluetooth Passthrough and can be problematic as the LED sensor bar isn't especially reliable, at least on older models. Update: Due to problems of the IR LEDs burning out from staying on too long, the v5 firmware released in late 2015 turns off the DolphinBar's IR LED lights when they are not needed, such as when no Wiimotes are connected or when the DolphinBar is in a mode where the pointer cannot be used. But unlike the old problematic sensor bars that turned off after a set time, the DolphinBar knows when the wiimote is being used, so it presents no problems. To anyone who hasn't updated their DolphinBars to a version with this feature, we definitely recommend that they do so.

The best position for the Wii sensor bar is to mount it on the front edge of the surface that the TV is sitting on. Avoid placing it below the TV, such as on shelves. Align the front of the sensor bar with the front of the TV surface to ensure optimal performance. 4. How do I know if my Wii sensor bar is broken? If you want to use a real GameCube controller in Dolphin, there are multiple options. There are many PC based USB adapters that allow use to use GameCube controllers as standard controllers that can be configured in Dolphin for the "Standard Controller" GameCube option and the "Emulated Wii Remote" option. If you find a file that Dolphin can’t recognise first make sure you’re using the latest Dev build but if that doesn’t work see if you can find the game from another source. Update: Since the creation of this article, Bluetooth Passthrough has been created as a new option for Wii Remote connectivity.
