Unfortunately for this review, I have just finished viewing the Robert Mitchum-Deborah Kerr 1985 TV movie "Reunion at Fairborough" when I came upon "Romance at the Orient Express" starring Stuart Wilson and Cheryl Ladd and decided to view it. (I must have misread the title and thought it was a new version of an Agatha Christie mystery novel; I was awaiting the report of a murder at any time. I took a second look at the title and true enough, it's a romance, not a murder mystery.) Ha-ha!

The main character is Freya Winter- a young woman who has a passion for playing the violin. Her family doesn't understand or appreciate her desire to be perform for others including possibly royalty. They want her to settle down and marry so that her father can leave her husband his prosperous railroad business. Freya is chosen to participate in a musical celebration in Salzburg where she will have an opportunity to be mentored by the renowned Salzburg Maestro. As with all good stories, there are questions, obstacles, and a mystery surrounding Erich's true identity. There's also a special encounter with Edward, the Prince of Wales. If you enjoy historical fiction and sweet, clean romance, treat yourself to this captivating book! Cheryl Ladd - I'm glad she made a success of her career. However she is not the greatest actress ever, certainly not strong/charismatic enough to raise this tv movie to any level above cliché.

Wrong Train to Paris is the second book in the Romance on the Orient Express series. I really hope to read the others. Meanwhile, Lily regrets her decision of sending Alex away and for not telling him the truth about their daughter. She fears she will never love again, and decides to marry the man she had planned to meet in London at the end of this trip. Meanwhile Alex arrives in Paris by car and is frantically searching for them. On their last day in Paris, however, Alex finds Lily with Susan and Lexa at the restaurant where he had promised to meet her 10 years earlier. Alex cannot help but stare at Lexa, until Lily sees him with tears streaming down his cheeks and walks over and embraces him. As the shot pans out, we see Lexa walking over towards her parents. So, that dream is over. It would probably have been full of toffs anyway. The toffs in this story are something else! The glamour and rich history of the Orient Express has frequently lent itself to the plot of books and films and as the subject of television documentaries.Cycling in France... as Middle - class students.. finding love?.. hey, but mummy and daddy will bail them out if reality bites.. but at a cost... After reading The Long Weekend by Veronica Henry I grabbed the next book of hers with two hands. I loved the style of her writing, the characterisation and the way all of the stories interlinked. In the prologue, the train is silent and empty, waiting for its passengers. The passengers are waiting on the platform. This series has been so good and I was incredibly excited to read Song of Salzburg. Song of Salzburg is the fourth and final book in the Romance on the Orient Express series. I adored the music and romance in this book. The characters were also a lot of fun, and I loved the relationships Freya made as she studied music.

After spending time with him and his aunt she comes to realizes the heart doesn't see material things but kindness and things of the heart. And Luc...oh Luc. How to describe him without giving away any spoilers? Hmmmm... He's definitely a character that is quiet and unassuming but has so much depth to him. His interactions with Julia from the beginning, sigh. And their different adventures were so fun to be along with them on while reading. I loved them together. The tender looks. The sweet friendship that grew even through the misunderstandings.There is also some great scenery, though the mid-eighties tv movie production does it few favors. (No wide screen here.) Next, we read an advert. A dating agency is running a competition to win a night on the Orient Express. We get to read the profiles of two people. There's just a slight problem with that when she awakens she realizes she had boarded the wrong train after her errand the night before after asking the mysterious Nicholas which train to board. She has now traveled all night hundreds of miles in the wrong direction away from Paris. Lovely, thoughtful, and surprisingly encouraging: What do you do when your dreams are also part of the substance of your very soul? How do you move forward when those who should be your greatest support and encouragement are the ones constructing your highest obstacles? You grasp for that cloak of confidence and move forward until you learn that “You can.” It’s not every day a novel gives you a pep talk, but this one had me sitting up straighter and nodding my head, “Yes! I can.” I loved the adventures Luc and Julia embarked on, while trying to help her reach her father in Paris. I enjoyed the setting immensely and I was especially fond of the animals. Moore does a great job of taking the reader along on this escapade with her engaging writing style.
