Strawberry Syrup – great for making ahead and can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. It can also be frozen for up to 3-4 months. Boba pearls - Separately, cook the tapioca pearls. Once cooked, toss them in the hot strawberry syrup to make them sweet. If you made the syrup in advance, simply heat it up in a saucepan for a few minutes or microwave.

We’ve been making this recipe a lot over here. It’s perfect as an afternoon drink for the summer. We’ve also been making lots of milkshakes, as well as berry smoothies and this easy pineapple banana smoothie. However, this drink can be made healthier by simply reducing the amount of syrup added. You can also skip the cream and use skimmed milk or unsweetened almond milk to reduce calories. What does it taste like? After much practice with some of the other flavours I had already found the right balance of quantity of milk and level of suction required to create the perfect milk flow. Drink too fast and the milk is mostly unflavoured and leaves you with a straw full of beads, slurp too slow and the flavour is strong, but you end up with half a glass of plain milk to drink. The ingredients are simple: strawberries, sugar, a bit of water, and a tall, cold glass of milk. The strawberries, sugar, and water simmer together to make strawberry syrup, and then you stir that into your milk, and you’re done.From my point of view, as someone who prefers a dairy-free diet, these straws worked exceedingly well with rice milk; and because the product is dairy-free and almost a hypoallergenic formula I would have no hesitation in recommending these products to both people with allergies and to the vegetarian and vegan societies as a treat for their kids or themselves. I tried this product with rice milk only, believing soy milk to have a taste that would mask the taste of the product. Fruity, creamy, subtly sweet, it’s pretty much all your strawberries and cream dreams come to life. For a vegan alternative, use almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk, soy milk, or cashew milk instead of dairy milk. Swap out the sugar for some honey or artificial sweetener such as Stevia, Splenda, or monk fruit sweetener. You pour a glass of standard milk and drink it through the straw, the process of milk going through these balls releases the strawberry flavour, and walaaa strawberry flavoured milk.Nobody knows exactly where and when strawberry milk was invented, but it’s believed that the idea first came by rinsing berries in milk. According to the Britain Natural History Museum, milk with different flavors was first thought of by an Irish man named Sir Hans Sloane. Ways to Make Strawberry Milk Fresh strawberries – for the most fragrant flavour, fresh strawberries are a must. Preferably, use them in summer when they are in season for the best taste. You can also use frozen strawberries, but they need to be thawed and drained of excess liquid. My second straw was more cleverly managed and I got a nice balance of flavour and no milk left over afterward, although I did discover that rate of suction really does make a difference to flavour intensity. I found the straws to be a little bulkier than I liked, but the tastiness really outweighed any issues :) For bright red colors, use fresh strawberries to make the syrup. If you can’t find fresh, frozen strawberries will work too. And if you went extra crazy at the farmers market and have way, way too many strawberries, stay tuned, I’ll be sharing a larger version of this recipe in the next few weeks.
