The product has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture, subject to correct storage conditions. Damp can begin seeping through wallpaper once it settles into household walls. Without damp treatment, this can ruin the appearance of the wallpaper and cause issues such as peeling, mould, and stains. To prevent this, be sure to keep your home ventilated. Thermapaint Anti-Mould is widely used by private landlords and social housing providers to treat persistent problem areas. It can be applied by roller or brush like any normal emulsion. Apply the paint in the normal way according to the manufacturer’s instructions. A mould resistant paint, indistinguishable from premium decorative brands. Mould and mildew need two things to grow, a nutrient source and moisture. The nutrient might be plaster, wood, paint or even wallpaper, and the moisture comes from water vapour, which in turn derives from everyday activities including, showering, boiling a kettle, drying clothes and even breathing. Remove the moisture and you remove the problem. It’s very easy to apply and once fully set leaves a soft sheen finish in magnolia resulting in a look that is sophistic yet simple. Any surface defects should be filled before painting with a premium plaster filler e.g. Everbuild TM. All Purpose Filler. Seal any areas that remain powdery with Kingfisher Floor & Wall Seal.

This particular additive comes in a 100ml bottle which is enough to mix with around 5L of paint. And speaking of mixing with paint, you can use this stuff with anything including emulsions, vinyl and if you’re brave enough, silk (sorry silk, but you’re terrible to work with). This of course means you have the freedom to choose your own paint and colour and still get mould resistance. If necessary, apply an appropriate primer or sealer to bare metal or masonry surfaces. For new or porous plaster surfaces thin the first coat if necessary according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow enough time to dry thoroughly.

Thermapaint Anti-Mould is the only paint to combine condensation controlling microsphere technology and anti-mould chemistry to stop re-infection. Unlike some anti-fungal paints, it is low odour and fully wipe-able when cured. a) The “Mould Cure” bottle comes with a built–in measuring cup, remove the lid, hold upright and squeeze gently to measure out 25 ml four times (100ml) and add to 400ml of warm (Not hot or boiling) water. If freedom to customise is your top priority, this anti mould additive might be the solution you’re looking for. Areas in the home that are prone to damp, such as the bathroom, are more likely to get mouldy. We recommend using mould resistant paint when redecorating these rooms to reduce the chance of mould growing on walls and ceilings again.

IDEAL BATHROOM ANTI MOULD PAINT- Combat mould growth effectively and shield your living spaces from the damaging effects of excess moisture. White anti-mould paint is the most popular one for bathrooms, but we have plenty of other colours to choose from. Perfect for internal high condensation areas such as a Kitchen or Bathroom, this top-notch paint offers exceptional coverage, with approximately 4-6 m² per litre, per coat. In terms of aesthetics, this anti condensation paint has a clean, white matt finish which in itself is a look worth keeping. Yes, damp resistant paint does an excellent job of waterproofing walls and preventing damp. If you are worried about condensation, using damp seal paint is the best method of prevention. Anti-damp paint also acts as a long-term treatment that can protect your home and decor.

Ronseal isn’t the cheapest anti mould option on the market but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. If you want to prevent mould growth, this is the paint for you. N.B. – If an unfinished, textured wallpaper (blown vinyl, woodchip etc.) or similar is to be used then it should be hung after the Surface Cleanser has fully dried. The wallpaper should then be coated with the anti-mould finish as above. Seal new or bare surfaces with a thinned coat of “Kingfisher Classic Emulsion” (1 part water to 5 parts paint). c) With the same measured solution as above, gently wipe the whole area again to remove any remaining mould residues. Wipe inwards from at least a meter past the edge of the visible infestation to catch concentrations of invisible spores which tend to gather at the periphery of the affected area.Leave the surface to dry (this should take approximately One hour) and ideally paint within 7 to 10 days of pre‐treatment. Both our standard “Anti-Mould Emulsion Paint” and our “Mould Cure”, create an active-film fungicide on the surface, upon which mould simply cannot grow. The “Thermapaint Anti-Mould” has the additional inclusion of vacuum ceramic micro-beads, which raise the surface temperature of the wall slightly, discouraging the formation of condensation on the painted surface.
