I know this because its how I’ve been powering a pair of stereo speakers, the speakers you see above, which sit behind my 22″ Samsung Smart TV. We also appreciate the flexibility this Avtex model provides – not only can both Apple and Android devices be wirelessly cast to it, but it’s also 12v/24v DC and 240v AC compatible. I’ve previously written a fairly comprehensive post on how to get an internet connection in your caravan or motorhome. So there is a range of ‘Smart’ portable 12V TVs for caravans and motorhomes currently on the market. Once connected, simply turn up the manual volume on the speakers to maximum and then use the TV remote to control the volume.

We also like how you have the option of wirelessly casting your mobile phone to it – like its bigger counterpart, the caravan TV is compatible with both Apple and Android phones for some useful flexibility. So once you have found that satellite signal, if you want to keep it, securely fix the dish into position with guy ropes. Which size dish will be best depends entirely on where it is going to be used. In the UK and Ireland a 50cm dish will be adequate to receive all channels. If you want to watch BBC or ITV in Spain, however, you need to consider a larger model.

Through this method, you have dramatically improved the sound quality of your small portable 12V TV for your caravan or motorhome and taken up very little additional space. Also if you go to Expensive World make sure you don't buy a Samsung or LG that is a model exclusive to them. Its actually got to the point where most people don’t want to watch live TV, they want to ‘stream’ content.
