The faceplate of the S12 Pro shows a relative clean surface that has a slightly protrudes area near the top, where the front acoustic chamber is located. When it comes to the passive noise isolation, I can say that it is on a sufficient level that is suitable for the use in relative noise environments such like a bus or a train.

Regarding the latter, there’s some controversy about whether the drivers used in the Celest could be classified as legitimate planars, but that’s a tale for another time. Even though the S12 Pro are not the most comfortable pair, I actually had more fit issues with the Timeless. Very good imaging, soundstage, micro-details, holographic soundstage if amplified (needs amplification as it is quite hard to drive). The upper midrange on the other hand is a bit more highlighted, extended and detailed when I do listen to the LetShuoer S12, while the 7HZ Timeless sounds a tad smoother and controlled in this area, which was fairly audible when I do listen to female voices or to violins, flues or pianos.

The LetShuoer S12 shows a pretty transparent and spacious midrange atmosphere thanks to its pronounced upper midrange tuning. To sum it up - 3 different frequency ranges bring 3 different qualities which don't really blend well together. What I also like about the subbass region of the S12 is the clarity, especially in relative dense passages.

The S12 PRO has a minimalistic industrial appearance with a smooth space-blue finish and excellent workmanship. The effect of that is that you get a mental image of the position of each instrument, which then lends to the perception of the stage. Its speedy transient quality applies to the mids bands and this will be the greatest part of contention among purists. Something where the naturalness of the sound, or macro/micro details, or transient speed might reveal a more competent driver or tuning?
