Dimple Pinch's unmistakable triangle-shaped bottle was patented in 1958—actually the first glass container to be registered as a trademark in the United States. On the plus side, there are no detectable off-notes due to the grain whisky component (nor should there be, at 15 years) and the dram is very well-integrated. If it is as horrible as you say then I will force my self to drink a 1/4 of the bottle then refill with laphroig, This homemade blending has worked well for the likes of Grants, Tomatin 12, AnCnoc 12, etc. I dont think it is as bad as the review states, but then again I will take a good beer over a scotch. U guys know how it is, Your pops and uncles drank it at get togethers and such so you start drinking it.It’s an ancient – in whisky industry terms – brand of blended scotch now owned by Diageo, but its long history of association with “luxury” or “premium” scotch means there are many old bottles floating around, some with actual secondary market value. But this review is fair to the reader because Pinch should be either your first nor your only scotch; it's too different to be representative of what scotch should be. By 1939 the combination of the Dimple and Gold Label brand extensions made Haig the top-selling Scotch in the UK, while Dimple Pinch had recovered its pre-Prohibition sales in the States. I'm not mad at it, but this is definitely a pour on ice and share with somebody who wants a scotchy scotchy scotch scotch experience.

With Water: A few drops of water reawaken that nose tickle, necessitating another rest in the glass. Personally, my problem is that my first real Scotch I ever had was a gift of Johnnie Walker 18 yr Century Blend. Given your affection for Johnnie Walker 18 yr (that has since been discontinued) I think you will really enjoy any of the above. There is some vanilla and oak, but it's stale and reminiscent of the smell you'd suffer when sitting in a taxi, that is supposedly non-smoking. Over 300 years of distilling and blending experience have ensured the perfection of this most distinguished deluxe Scotch whiskey.
