All in all this was an amazing book and i am DEFINITELY looking forward to seeing more from Shantel about the LORDs. Every time i thought i had things figured out there was something else that comes to light which throws you for another loop and ruins everything you thought you knew. She is destined to become a mafia wife and the only way out of such a predicament is death. However, it does seem that there is someone determined to ensure she does not marry the mafia boss and if he has his way she may just end up dead.

One Christmas, while everyone was thinking of what resolutions they would make for the coming year, she already had something concrete in mind. Shantel convinced herself that she was going to become an author come what may. This group contains adult content. The Ritual and Sabotage remain my favourites. I have unresolved issues with The Sinner but I like The Sacrifice even though: Sometimes the villain is the only one who wins because no one else is ruthless enough to fight him.

I give this book five stars and can’t wait to read more from Shantel Tessier. I’ve already added all her books to my TBR and will make time to read them all. =) I can’t wait for The Sinner,a book set in this book but can be read as a standalone. I’m all for it!! I wonder if the MMC in that book can top Ryat, though. He’s on the list of unforgettable MMCs, and Blakely is on the list of favorite FMCs. You have Laikin Minson who is one of my favorite FMCs honestly. She manages to be badass while also being forced to marry Tyson, her sister's ex-boyfriend and alleged "murderer". I mean the dining scene alone is a perfect example of that and it is one of my favorite scenes of all time honestly. I didn't love Lake as the FMC, though. There were parts where she was a total badass, and I was like, HELL YEA GIRL, but then she kind of fell flat for me. While Shantel is passionate about writing, the family will always come first. As such, she spends most evenings at home with her daughters and her husband alongside their dog and cat. In short, I thought there were a ton of disconnects. Between the plot, the characters, the build up. There were multiple scenes that I thought didn’t make sense in relation to the book. I won’t say how I would have liked the characters to be, because this is not my work and I respect that this is how Shantel envisioned her characters, but for me, it was a miss. Needless to say, it was hard for me to finish this book. It wasn’t keeping my attention. Which really was a let down for me, because I was ready for Tyson.She had always loved reading and she felt that there was no better tie to write her own novel. After she published her debut in 2013, there was no stopping her and she could not be happier. Our protagonist Laikyn was also very pale. She just cries and doesn't even show her strength. In addition to all that, his relationship with his elder sibling began to deteriorate. These events left him feeling all alone and lost and hence he soon turned to fighting, alcohol, sex, and drugs to mask his pain. Not only that, she finds herself in charge of the Roses the flower shop that has been in the family for years. This is a lot of responsibility and she often finds herself stressed out and very busy. When you think this world couldn’t get any twistier, these (anti)heroes couldn’t get any swoonier, Shantel proves. you. wrong. As they say, nothing lasts forever. Men like him never stay with a woman like me. I’m what they use, not keep. So when he threw me away, I shouldn’t have been all that surprised.

Now, prepare yourself because when Ryat and Blakely take the vow together, you will go down a path like I did that questions everything. Finding out kinks that you never knew you could like, but these two made you like them. (Now I understand some readers are bothered by certain things, which is understandable, just know these two as a couple are not vanilla. What they do in this book works for them, which is why I loved Ryat and Blakely together.) Ryat is a sadist and likes inflicting pain, while Blakely realizes she likes pain, especially since she’s new to it. My favorite thing about Ryat is that he doesn’t judge Blakely when he asks her what she could be into and acts it out for her. Yes, he’s not a judgemental a-hole like her ex is in this book. Ryat is Blakely’s first for everything in this book, and I was glad it was him and no one else. These two were made for each other, and they didn’t even realize it.
