Here, then, at the height of the California strawberry season, when the fruit just can’t get any redder or any sweeter, I present Strawberry Tequila. This Strawberry Paloma takes things a step further by muddling fresh strawberries with the lime juice, adding tequila, and shaking these ingredients with ice before straining them over fresh ice and topping with grapefruit soda. This adds the flavor of fresh strawberries without adding any extra sweetness, like you would by using a strawberry syrup. How to make it with strawberry simple syrup This is personal preference and completely up to you. I love a salt rimmed glass, but there’s no right or wrong answer to this one. You do you.

For the safest storage, keep your alcohol infusions in the fridge for longer-term storage. Contrary to what you may have read, infusions can spoil, especially if they still have the organic matter in them. If you are going to be using the tequila within a week or so, you can store it out of direct sunlight in a cool dark place, unrefrigerated.
