Note: Some of the characters here are in other sections due to changing their groups and so may not be linked here, though they shall be linked in their first mentioned section. Rowhurst boys I highly recommend this to those who loves Michael Grant's GONE novels. Both book shares the same elements such as big casts, in-your-face non-stop actions, kids going against each other, alternating perspectives, fast pacings etc. It's fun literature at its best. Achilleus - The best and most skilled fighter in the Waitrose crew. He can be moody and sarcastic, but he is a valuable member of the group because of his fighting skills. He blames Freak for the incident at the pool that cost Deke and Arran their lives. The kids at the Natural History Museum are run by a boy named Justin and are heavily interested in discovering the cure to the disease and to also understand it. They have few fighters don't leave the Museum very often. They grow crops in one of the courtyards of the nearby Victoria and Albert Museum and raid the museum for clothes, jewellery, weapons and items of interest.

They must work together if they want to make it in this terrifying new world. But when fresh disaster threatens to overwhelm London, they realize they won't all survive...Finally, Callum has become depressed from loneliness since his friends left for the palace. He has tried to keep himself entertained, but can do nothing to help himself. Eventually, the same army from before (led by Saint George) storm the Waitrose Supermarket, and Callum lets them kill him to end his suffering. They set the supermarket on fire and burn it to the ground, with Saint George leading his army into the centre of town. In his mind, he says that he intends to kill and devour every single child in the city, stating that "He is Saint George. The city belongs to Him". Josh – A boy in the Waitrose group. After Achilleus, Josh is the second-best fighter of the group and claims he isn't scared of anything. He is killed by infected monkeys. Maxie - One of the main characters in the book. She becomes leader of the Waitrose crew after Arran dies but has trouble staying mentally strong after his death. She becomes a good leader after Ollie privately tells her that he believes that the Waitrose kids need a leader to look up to and make hard decisions, going on to say that he believes Maxie can be perfect for this. This section is about groups that once existed but no longer do due to death, separation or changes. It’s also AWESOME. And that’s not even the best bit. That comes later and eeerrrrrrgrgrghhhh it’s brilliant.

A chapter at the end comes from the view point of the main villain of the series St George, and it briefly shows his plans and aims. Shadowman - A boy of fifteen, he is a self sufficient survivor, who acts as a spy for Jester, in return for a guaranteed home at the Palace whenever he needs it. He wears a cloak that is camouflaged to the city to help him remain undetected, and also carries a laptop bag, which he keeps his items in. He is known to be very secretive, and enjoys spying on people and watching from a distance, trying to stay away from getting close to people. Not many people know his real name, and he uses a different identity for every settlement. He carries a crossbow, machete, three knives and on occasion a club. His only known friends are Jester and Go-Girl.

The Enemy is the first book in the Enemy Series and is third book chronologically. It was published on the 3rd September, 2009. The book follows different characters story lines (all part of a larger story line which covers the series) and their survival through London: Squatters into Palace, David camp overrun, David and Jester die, Shadowman sees deaths, kills Medusa. The fourth book in the series, and along with The Fallen, the fourth book chronologically. It was released 20th September, 2012. It follows three major story lines, with a few chapters following other characters; Buzz Cut - A boy with a buzz cut and no front teeth, who informs Ed about Mad Matt's religion, and that Bozo came from it. It is possible that he is the character below, having shaved.

Well I try to avoid writing characters that are hard to do, and I find that they are, I just kill ‘em! Brendan Eldridge - A boy from the Tower, he is exiled by Jordan for stealing food which he gave to a girl to impress her. He is well liked in the Tower, but seems largely viewed as a coward. Courtney- Courtney is one of the survivors of the boat crash and is also best friends with Brooke. She has grown a crush on DogNut over the last year and is only going on the adventure to get some time with DogNut relatively alone. Dan- An IKEA kid who seems more reasonable than Saif. He introduces himself to Shadowman when he wakes up. Thomas Hopgood - A boy mentioned once that lives at the museum. He is presumably the Thomas who attends World Book Day.Anita - A girl from a group based in Notting Hill during the early days of the outbreak, which initially also contained Jester, Shadowman, Rose and Persephone. She is the original leader, and eventually became corrupt with power and started making rash decisions, which caused her death and the deaths of others. Shadowman compares her to Saif. As they are making their way to the palace, the Waitrose and Morrisons children (Now called the Holloway kids after the road both shops were on) are met by a large army of zombies, led by the Saint George zombie Sam saw earlier. In the resulting fight, Arran and Maxie discover they are attracted to each other, a secret they both kept for fear of the other person not feeling the same way. The Holloway children eventually force the zombie army into a retreat, but Arran's bite causes him to go insane and chase after them. He is mistaken for a zombie by a girl named Sophie (Leader of a group of archers) and she shoots him in the chest with a bow and arrow. Despite her attempts to save him, Arran eventually dies in Maxie's arms (much to her grief). The Holloway crew wake up in Portland Palace, and Maxie finds out Josh didn't make it, to which she grows even more depressed. [9] They then move out and reach Oxford Circus from there they changed the route they'd take and go through the shops looting stuff. They end up at Selfridges, where Ollie, Achilleus, Lewis, and Sophie form a scouting party to make sure it's safe. Blue - The leader of the Morrison's crew and one of the main characters. He explained to Maxie that he was once a bookworm, and not so good at fighting and being fat. But when the disease started to affect the adults and the early kids all been killed off by the grown-ups, Blue had to learn to fight and become a very strong leader and he said to Maxie as well, that he liked her, but he hadn't mentioned anything before because of Maxie's feelings for Arran.

He commonly uses an axe for breaking things and is quite good with it. He eventually becomes good friends with Maxie and has been shown with strong morals. He dies by a stab wound from Just John in The Enemy. Small Sam is rescued from the cannibals by The Kid, and they escape the station after leading one of the cannibals into the sun. The rain stops. My favorite scene, however, took place toward the end. Two hardcore guys have an intense fight to the death. Oh my word. I could barely read it, yet I was fascinated. There was so much tension and repulsion and the stakes have never been higher. Shout-out to Achilleus, the fighter I was rooting for. Sorry you didn't make my "favorite characters" list, buddy, but sometimes you scared me.Just John" – The leader of the squatters in the park. He is nearly killed by Achilleus, and he and his group are cast out of the park. He, like Achilleus, has designs shaved into his head. DogNut looks over the Thames and plans to leave in search of Brooke. The night before going on his journey to the centre of London, DogNut has a bad dream about Leo's death. Small Sam and the Kid leave the safety of the Tower in search of his sister, but along the way they are trapped and must fight to escape.
