The Swing Caddie SC4 Simulator + Launch Monitor is acutting-edge device that combines the functionalities of a simulator and a launch monitor, providing you with an immersive and data-driven golfing experience. The Swing Caddie itself is a pretty sexy looking device. It’s navy blue with a bright orange screen that I found to be extremely easy to read while on the range. It is slightly reflective, so bright sunshine could prove problematic, but I haven’t had any issues with visibility so far. While the My Swing Caddie app is not required to use the SC4, it makes a strong case to be part of every session. This is easily one of the best launch monitor apps available. First, it offers several different ways to view your data while you’re practicing (above). You can also film your swing and connect the videos to the swing data. The included remote is much higher quality than I was expecting it to be, and it had a little it of weight to it, which I love. I honestly don’t think they could have created a more user-friendly remote for this device – it worked perfectly, and whether I was changing my club, changing the mode, or changing my target distance – it performed flawlessly. So out of the gate the Swing Caddie 2 was off to a good start, and was certainly living up to my lofty expectations after my 15 minutes with it at the Show – but did the good times keep rolling? At this price, the SC4 is easily my favorite launch monitor. I love the ease of use, and it provides a lot of data points with solid accuracy. Additionally, the app is excellent and the ability to use it with E6 golf simulation is a big value add. Unless you’re going to step up to spending several thousand dollars for a launch monitor, the Swing Caddie SC4 is the easy choice. I thought the original SC200 was a solid value, and the SC200 PLUS is even better. The price is the same but they’ve added the ability to measure practice swings. Whether you’re using it to train for speed, add precision to your practice, or both, this is a great tool. I found that if you hit your shot well, then the accuracy was pretty much dead on. However if you top it, or have a bad slice then the information can vary wildly.

I’ve made it pretty clear the accuracy is good with shots hit well, and sporadic with the shots that aren’t hit so well – but what are other fundamental downsides to this device?The question of whether or not the SC200 is worth the upgrade kind of depends on you and how you plan to use it. Do you have custom fitted clubs and lofts? Definitely worth getting the 200. The new one will be a little bit more accurate across the board, but the rest comes down to personal preference. This only happened once in my testing, but where you stand and outside conditions could play a role in your results. Timing**: Like music, rhythm and timing are paramount in golf. The ideal club head speed is reached at impact and continues into the through swing. Regular practice will help embed this crucial timing. I found that any of these games (or any practice in general) works well when you have some clear distance markers on the range to shoot for. If you just have an open field and it tells you to hit it 76 yards it can be a little difficult to get a frame of reference. Is the Swing Caddie SC200 Accurate?
