Opened in late 2021, the Giddy Gannet offers takeaway, sit-in or bench outside and have classic homebakes as well as sandwiches such as the St Monans Swinger which has pastrami, smoked cheese, gherkin and mustard mayo. As the largest of the coastal villages, Anstruther has plenty to offer tourists. There’s a large harbour with two long harbour walls that can be walked along, the incredibly popular Anstruther Fish Bar, and the Isle of May boat trip departure point. Following down the narrower streets of Cellardyke, you will come across the tiny 16th-century harbour. The Dolls House has been trading for over 25 years, The Dolls House serves, hearty, good quality, delicious food from weekend brunches, weekday lunches, dinner and afternoon tea and of course all day hot, cold and alcoholic beverages. Isle of May Boat Trips: A great way to see the Isle of May and its flora and fauna is by taking a boat trip with osprey, a big ten metre Humber Rib which can hold up to 12 passengers. Alternatively, head west over dramatic Kincraig Hill to the pretty village of Lower Largo. This 10km coastal route is one of the best sections of the Fife Coastal Path. As further evidence of Lundin Links’ prehistoric significance, in 1965, a storm uncovered a Pictish cemetery on Massney Braes, overlooking Lundin Links Beach. Archaeological excavations revealed that several of those buried there had been given elaborate send-offs so perhaps were important in the Pictish Kingdom of Fib, later known as the Kingdom of Fife. Today, it’s a fascinating 4-star visitor attraction that explains the history of Scotland’s best-kept military secret.
